I HATE to be the weirdo already posting about fall availability 🙃 HOWEVER, I am traveling so much in October and only have 1 week of availability that month… SO, I am putting fall dates on your minds, because it’s prime time for my people to get in for photos. I will have the end of September, 1 week in October, and 1 week in November, and then I roll right into holiday work for my studio space! I will post actual fall dates soon, but if you know that you’ll be wanting to reserve one of the limited spots and want to get on my list for first availability, comment below! I was cashed out yesterday. We had a very tired 6 year-old who was taking us on a trip through tantrum city, and a very opinionated 10 year-old who was giving me a run for my money in the patience department 🙃 I wasn’t angry, I wasn’t flustered, I was just done and rushing bedtime to get my shower and lay down. I didn’t snuggle as long as I usually do. I didn’t sit and talk with them as much as I usually do. I just had rest on my mind. Their Daddy had them on his mind though. And I noticed. I noticed when I walked past our son’s room and he was STILL laying in bed with him, reading a book and comforting him from his last cry. I noticed when I walked down the hallway twice and he was STILL sitting on our daughters bed, in full conversation and at full attention while she was in full story mode, cowgirl hat and all. I noticed, and I didn’t feel guilty. I felt thankful. He showed up where I just couldn’t last night. I’m a firm believer that marriage and parenting won’t always be 50/50. We are flawed, and not made to be 100% all the time, or even be able to give half of ourselves all the time. Sometimes is 40/60, 80/20, or even 100% on one partner so the other can heal through things. To be able to recognize the moments where your significant other shows up where you miss isn’t always a shameful thing, nor should it be. But so incredibly beautiful. It makes you realize who you have, and what you have. Who your children have. And to honor it, love it, cherish it, and notice it. Big or small, notice it.
