It’s almost time for the plant sale!!

Spring is in the air and you know what that means — the Central Campus Plant Sale is coming soon! ONE MONTH from today on April 21, we’ll be opening our doors. The Central Campus Horticulture students have been hard at work to prepare the best products for this event. We’ll be selling perennials, annuals, hanging baskets, veggies, herbs, houseplants, and more. Mark your calendar to come check it out!

Valentine’s Day is coming up! Come to Central Market to get the perfect gifts. Students are making floral arrangements and we will have all our regular locally-sourced products. We will be open this Thursday (2/9) through Saturday (2/11). We look forward to seeing you this weekend!

Our Holiday Shop will be open December 8-10! We are excited to open Central Market to showcase the beautiful wreaths, centerpieces, and holiday decor our students have made. We also have many locally sourced products that are perfect for holiday gifts. Support your local students this holiday season. We look forward to seeing you!

Our Autumn Market is happening THIS week November 3 - November 5! Our floral design class is making beautiful pumpkin flower arrangements and as usual we’ll be selling our student-raised meat and other local products. See photo for hours and location. Hope to see you there!

Please support these students, as they have helped grow some Berkshires. A percentage of sales will go directly to the programs, and as always, a purchase of Berkwood Farms products go right back to the farmers who work tirelessly to bring quality pork to your table.

Come and support your local Central Market for all holiday needs this season! In addition to our regular store items, we will have wreaths, holiday signs, centerpieces, ornaments, and more – all made by students! We will be open December 16, 17, and 18. Besides having in season and locally grown produce we are also sourcing more organic produce. This week we have added organic cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, and wheat grass!

Why wheat grass?? A student recommended we get some in the store. She likes to turn it into a juice or smoothie.

Farmtable Procurement & Delivery

New Vendor coming this week!! Sweet corn is a staple food of an Iowan’s summer. We are excited to have locally grown sweet corn from Van Manen Sweet Corn! 🌽🌽🌽

Come get yours while supplies last! We are open Thursday and Friday 3p-6p and Saturday 12-3p.

Every month we evaluate what our top selling and least selling items are. Do you know what were the top items in June? Crickets and t-shirts!

New product!! We now have two types of granola from local businesses. There is cranberry pecan and maple. Grab yours this weekend.

We are starting to get produce from local growers! Our local items this week include kale, cabbage, rhubarb, apple mint, and spearmint.

Lauren, the store manager, is training Carlie on our operations today. Stop in this afternoon and say hi!

Fun fact: the temperature difference between our freezer and the outside is -72! Stop in this weekend and get our flavor of the month CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY!!
