The Jump Rope Gang was formed to address the need of healthy living within the black community. COVID-19 hit our community hardest due to the our community being the highest rated minority in every health report listing life threatening diseases.
On top of that, the country has heard the cries, screams and outrage over racial injustice and police brutality. We have partnered with Tamela C. Todd, Author & Mental Health Advocate to discuss self-care, exercise, and ways to de-stress when things get overwhelming after viewing social media and the news.

Gm JUMP ROPE GANG!! We’ve been working out together for almost a month now and some of you are taking for granted the Improvements you’ve made during this time. It’s important to remember that even if you haven’t lost any lbs, you’ve definitely lost inches.
More important than that, you’ve developed some really great habits during this month as well. As we go further together our eating habits should be transitioning as well.

Hey JUMP ROPE GANG! It’s Jump Chic! The growth that I’ve seen in the participation & membership has been really amazing!!!
New Challenges coming this week for the more advanced jumpers and experienced athletes.
For those who are just beginning 30-45 seconds, 2-3 days a week is good. If you can only do one set per day to start that works. The point is to build your stamina & to get started.
You guys are the BEST! Challenge each other, invite people to participate. We’re all gonna get healthier mentally & physically together. ❤️ Jump Chic

Here’s a clip of my jumps from today, this was my first set. I had a few issues, my rope kept hitting my ceiling I had to find a make shift way to still jump. I stumbled a couple of times, I didn’t allow that to discourage or stop me. By the time my workout was completed, I had successfully completed 500 jumps!
I’m Jump Chic, I’m not perfect at jump roping by any means. Consistency is required to get better at jump roping. Start where you are and go from there, you’ll surprise yourself! But you won’t be surprised by your results!!

Here’s my last set of the challenge for today, 150 jumps straight through. Even if you guys do 50 one day, 100 the next day, and 150 a few days later that’s great!
Those just starting need to make sure that you’re stretching before and after jumping and don’t try to over do it your first couple of days.
This is a long game and we’re going to build as we go. My total for today was 600 throughout my 45 minute workout.
I worked on my arms and shoulders after my jump rope workout today.
My Honey Ray Buford decided to join in today!! In his church shoes, I mean work shoes 😂😂😂😂 He did great!!
