I am honored to partner with Community leaders to make a difference in young mens lives! and have spent decades giving back to the community out of their own pockets, this year we decided to come together and get our village involved!

Join us on Monday as we bless young men who think they have no one fighting for/with them. This holiday season, we want to be their answered prayer! While Brian and Rob are year round blessings, lets go over the top this week and become a blessing WITH them. As I shared with the team, we do not have to wait for anyone else to come in our community and save our young men, WE CAN DO IT, we just have to do it TOGETHER.

**Youth Opportunity Alert**

With new leadership, I hope that there will be a focus on increasing streams of revenue.

While the Council’s previous leadership structure passed bills that residents appreciate, we have spent more money than we have, placing the burden of covering our day-to-day expenses back on the residents through tax payments.

After reviewing the most recent state of our county budget deficit for 2025 of approximately $183 million, and by 2030, this deficit is projected to rise to $386 million. This is not the time for increased spending; instead, we need to focus on engaging with the corporate tax base. It’s imperative to urge our local leaders to prioritize revenue generation rather than excessive spending. Ultimately, the residents of Prince George’s County will bear the responsibility for any and all deficits, potentially leading to property tax hikes in the future.

Do your research, know who your elected officials are, and make your voice known in places where decisions are made; for you, your families, and your legacy!

A Week in Review

As the week is concluding, and what a week it has been, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to The Honorable Jolene Ivey, the newly elected Chair of the Prince George’s County Council and my brother, prayer partner, companion in tribulation, Vice Chair Sydney Harrison. With this new leadership, I hope there will be a greater focus on increasing the streams of revenue in our County.

As we come to the close of the 2022-2023 school year I would be remiss if I did not honor the educators of the Prince George's County Public School system, with a special shoutout to the educators and staff of Woodmore Elementary School.

My grand baby (and heartbeat) entered Pre-K4 this year at Woodmore Elementary and it has been the most delightful experience and more than we could have hoped for! Their patience, efforts, and thoughtfulness did not go unnoticed and deserved to be celebrated! And celebrate we did!

Thank you to Delegate Kim Taylor from District 23 who joined me! This was a moment for the books and a great way to end an era...Woodmore Elementary has been in place since 1963 and will be torn down after the school year ends.

While I carry mixed emotions, I am grateful that we got to honor, recognize, and salute them for a job well done!
