These sweet girls are loving farm life. They are always ready to jump in and help, try new things, and learn!

Enjoying some sugar snap peas, lettuce, strawberries, and blueberries straight out of the garden tonight!

We unexpectedly ended up with this little guy this past week. He's only 4 weeks old and on a bottle but doing great!

We had a bit of a scare last night. After some bad storms with hail, high winds, and a tornado one of our calves was missing. We were out well after dark looking for him but unfortunately had to call it a night. I went back out early this morning to check the fence lines not expecting to find him, or if I did, I fully expected him to be injured or worse from the storm damage. It took some scrapes, bruises, and falls in the mud but I FOUND HIM!!! It took both of us to bend the barbed wire enough to get to him but he's back in the pasture and he's okay! We'll be going out today to repair the damaged areas of the fence where trees fell but we are so relieved he's home safe!

Guys we did it!!!

We spent the day Sunday processing our first batch of meat birds. My husband and his family had done this before but it was completely new to me so I chose to stand back and watch for a bit before getting hands on. The girls were interested in the process and Adeline even decided to put on an apron and help! She was unsure about the first few but after having a talk with mommy and auntie about the process, why we chose to do it, and telling the chickens thank you for providing food for us she felt much better!

This process wasn't easy for me but to know where our food is coming from and that I'm putting pure and healthy food in front of my family makes it worth it. Thank you so much to our family who took time out of their day to come help and support us in this and to teach me. We love and appreciate you guys so much!

We've raised these babies since they were just a few days old. They are Holstein/Jersey and we're excited about raw milk in the future!

This kid is braver than me..

I grew these nasturtium from seeds and it's so satisfying to see them blooming!

Nasturtium is great for keeping squash bugs, aphids, and beetles away from your veggies!

This weekend we'll be processing our first batch of meat birds. They are pasture raised, soy free, and non GMO. We do all this to ensure that we're feeding our family the best of the best!

& For those of you that have asked about this YES we plan to do more in the future that we will be selling!

Have you ever looked at the ingredients in baked goods like bread? The number of ingredients and what's included in them is awful! Start reading labels and researching some of the ingredients they're putting in your and your family's food and the effects it can have on your body. Homemade not only tastes better but it's better for you! Don't have the time or don't enjoy baking? Look for swaps that have fewer and better ingredients!

We've been working hard on the garden lately and the girls are absolutely loving it! One of our goals is to grow and raise as much of our food as possible. I love that we'll know exactly where it came from and that I can feel good about the food I'm feeding my family!
