Mindful Wandering, Dover, NH Videos

Videos by Mindful Wandering in Dover. Guiding people in nature with a sequence of sensory invitations.

Don't let the name fool you-- forest bathing can be done anywhere there's a patch of dirt. Little pockets of the natural world can be found everywhere, like this disc golf course on the river. Can you hear the birds, the river, the cars driving, or all 3?

Thoughtful Thursday: Do you need permission to "do nothing"? Can you be unproductive for a few minutes, or longer, and not feel bad? Is setting aside time to do nothing actually OK? πŸ€” Maybe you need someone to tell you it's OK. If so, allow me to tell you...."it's OK to do nothing". ❀️ #ThoughtfulThursday #justbe #donothing #noguilt

Barrington Town Forest
I love walking in new places. I find that my senses are more highly attuned than walking someplace familiar. Curiosity is spiked--"what's down that trail?" "I wonder what that is over there" "how far does this trail go?" "what's over that ridge?" It was pure joy from the moment I entered the woods. I heard peepers, birds, the wind. Finding the lady slipper, and then the newt/salamander, was icing on the cake! I will be guiding a forest bathing walk here sometime soon-- for certain.

Thoughtful Thursday: Look Up
We're addicted to the need to be mentally stimulated, all the time. Forest bathing helps counteract this by connecting us to our senses and connecting us to our bodies. Let go, and look up.#ThoughtfulThursday with Aimee Dion

"To bathe in the forest is to be immersed in a grace that permeates the world, to feel an immanent power and beauty that is everywhere, whispering. It is our human heritage as members of the earth community to not just hear these whispers, but to join our own voices to them" ~~ from "Your Guide to Forest Bathing" by Amos Clifford, founder of the Associate of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides & Programs. Will you be joining us this Saturday?
