Our local partner, Sister Maria, sent us a video showcasing the remarkable impact our lights have had on agriculture in Chisansu, Africa. Despite facing challenges this year, such as record-breaking tropical storms, extreme heat, and high fertilizer costs, farmers in the area could plant sunflowers and peanuts at night with the help of Watts of Love lights. Thanks to this innovative solution, crops have flourished, and Sister Maria reports a successful harvest! Nope!💡 We want to give our recipients a hand-up, not a hand-out! Everyone who receives a solar light is also empowered with financial literacy training. This way, they can save the money they were spending on their previous light source, buy something that will make them money (such as a chicken that will lay eggs to eat & sell), and strive for their “Big Dream.” For some, that dream is to eventually purchase a tin roof or send their kids to school.
