Messy bun babes, where are you at?

Did you know that wearing messy buns and ponytails everyday can actually cause a lot of damage and breakage?
Don't worry, I'm not telling you to give up your beloved messy bun

But here's some tips to help you reduce breakage wearing your hair up!

• Use scrunchies, invisabobbies, or fabric hair ties

• Switch up the position and don't wear your pony or bun in the same spot every day

• Ditch the bands all together and opt for a jaw clip

• Never wear your hair up wet

• Don't wear your ponytail or bun too tight

I’m Kierstyn 👋🏼 single mama of 2 who are my whole world! I have been doing hair for 12 years!!! We had all weekend to think about adding a kitty to our family and we are all so happy we did!

I was a little MIA this past weekend (not hair related) cause it was mine and this handsome man’s 10 year anniversary. Can you believe that TEN YEARS!! Man time flies! 😝We went to Kanab to try a new place and had fun being kid free. We visited the Moqui cave, went hiking and cooled off in the pool and went to the Best Friends animal Sanctuary down there and oh man that place is amazing! If you love animals and you are ever down there. 💯 recommended visiting, checking it out with a tour or a self tour. If your anything like my hubby and I, you will leave adopting someone! 😬😂🤦🏻‍♀️🥹

We now have a handsome little kitten named Zion! My kids have been DYING and BEGGING us for years and years for a cat. So when we were down there of course you fall in love with all the kittens. They told us it was national kitten day Sunday(when we were leaving back home) and adoption was free. So I told my hubby if we really want a cat and one of them that we liked was still there Sunday when we leave, it was a sign and well now we have a kitty.😂😊 Wish us luck and pray our dogs will get along with him!🙏🏼😬😁

This 4th of July definitely felt different this year compared to previous years. With everything that’s been going on in America (with literally everything!) it just doesn’t feel the same to celebrate and be as proud as you use to be. Times are hard and even though they are hard I am still very grateful for the life I have.

My family is everything to me and I am very proud of them and what we have. The things we can still do and be able to do is something a lot of people don’t. To have access to the things we do and to live the life we have…..So I am celebrating my family and the things we are able to do and be grateful for the life we get to have.

Are you embracing your natural hair this summer?

Summer is the perfect time to experiment with embracing your hair’s natural texture! But you might be thinking, “where do I even start?!”

Here’s some tips to embrace your natural hair this summer!

☀️Incorporate hair products that hydrate and moisturize your hair! On top of a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, I recommend incorporating a leave-in conditioner and oil for your ends. I really enjoy Kevin Murphy’s Hydrate shampoo and conditioner. His untangled leave in conditioner and the young again oil!

☀️Lay off the heat! Hot tools can damage your hair’s natural curl or wave pattern. The longer you lay off the flat iron, the better your curls/waves will be.

☀️Handle wet hair with care! When your hair is wet, it is in its most fragile state. Use a wide tooth comb or wet brush and swap your towel for a microfiber towel or t-shirt.

🚨Not all sunscreens are extension safe🚨

It's that time of year when you may be wanting to live out your mermaid girl fantasies with some long extensions!

But did you know that not all sunscreens should be used if you have extensions?

Some ingredients found in chemical sunscreens - specially octocrylene and avobenzone - can cause extensions to turn pink/orange!

To avoid your hair matching the summer sunset, stick with mineral based sunscreens and be sure to double check the ingredients.

Here's some of my go to extension safe sunscreens!

2. Coola Mineral Body Organic Sunscreen

Non hair related but a little shout out to these 2 kido’s. They have made the past few weeks easier to handle then I could imagine, with their silly and fun personalities they always know when to make me smile.

With my grandpa passing it has been a lot harder then I thought it would be. Even though we were prepared for it to come one day….Loosing someone no matter what is so hard. I am glad he is no longer in pain and suffering but there won’t be a day that goes by that I won’t be missing you. We all will be missing you!

This is my favorite hack to stop washing your hair every day!

I get this question multiple times a day from clients. “How do I go longer between washing my hair?”

I get it! Life is crazy and who has time to wash, dry, and style their hair everyday?! Not me! And if you’re reading this, chances are you don’t either. 😜

So I’m gonna assume you’ve jumped on the dry shampoo train already. But did you know you might not be using it the most efficient way? Try this!

Use your dry shampoo as a preventative measure by spraying it at the roots before bed or working out to absorb extra oils as they appear!

Have you used dry shampoo this way before? It’s a game changer!

Continuing education is very important! So I am super grateful for online classes that are just at my fingertips. With my busy working mom life we are constantly on the go, plus it’s hard to get babysitters sometimes so being able to do classes in my own home on my own time has been the best thing ever!

•Cancellations
24- hour advance notice is required when canceling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give us 24 hours advance notice you will be charged a $30.00 fee. This amount will be add to your next scheduled appointment.

•No-Shows
Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show.” They will be charged for their “missed” appointment on their next scheduled appointment.

•Late Arrivals
If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your stylist will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a service. Regardless of the length of the service actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration to your stylist and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time.
