Dublin Area Progressives and Positively Blue are partnering with Buckeye State Rural (BSR) in buying billboards in Union County for the 2 months preceding the election. 2020 may be the most important election of our lives. As a swing state, Ohio has the potential of playing a big role in saving our democracy.

We want to erect full sized billboards that encourage rural voters to vote in their own self-interest on issues like health care, Medicaid, Social Security, Worker Rights, etc. In other words, VOTE DEMOCRATIC! In light of Covid-19 we have limited ability to campaign as usual using canvasses, rallies and in person fundraising. We need a medium that can reach the most people at a cost we can afford. In 2018, Buckeye State Rural put up 5 billboards that had 6.7 million views!

Buckeye State Rural has signed contracts on 22 billboards in the following counties: Fairfield, Athens, Loraine, Pickaway, Madison, Meigs and Huron. There is currently a bill in the Ohio Senate that would permit volunteers to carry guns in our elementary schools without training. I wish this was a joke. Sadly, it's actually the result of a gerrymandered Republican supermajority with full control.
