“Hey there, friends! 🌟 You know, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how we showcase our new artwork. Every time we head to an art show, I kick myself for not capturing enough photos or videos beforehand. It’s like we’re so focused on creating these beautiful pieces in the weeks leading up to the show, and then they just fly off the shelves once we’re there. We end up with maybe a random short video clip of our art booth, but that new artwork we poured our hearts into doesn’t get the attention it truly deserves right after it’s born. So, about a month ago, when we thought we were heading to Texas, I had this epiphany. I was like, ‘Wait a minute, we need to document all of this beauty before it’s gone!’ We set up in the store while the rest of the team was busy packing up the trailer. I was there grabbing pieces left and right, saying, ‘Hold on, hold on, I need to get a shot of this one before it’s bubble wrapped and packed away.’ Because each piece is like a piece of our soul, you know? Anyways, I’m making a pledge to myself and to you all: I want to do a better job at capturing all of our new artwork before it heads out the door and finds its new home at an art fair. These creations deserve their moment to shine, and I’m determined to make that happen. Here’s to documenting the magic and celebrating our art journey together! 🎨✨ #ArtLife #DocumentTheMagic #NewArtEverywhere #duluth #duluthmn #mnartist #artfairlife #minnesota #artfairs #travelingartist

Help me wish @nathanael.bailey Happy Birthday!!!

While we love our Midwest shows- and they tend to always do the best for us- we’ve decided to invest in traveling to find new markets! Two years ago, we did our first fair in Texas, and found out our people in Houston at the @bayoucityartfestival . This is our third time back- and each of the shows has brought unique wins and challenges. While this show has brought the least amount of sales- ☀️we have made some wonderful connections with the artists around us ☀️we’ve connected with our Texas collectors- and are appreciative of their continued investment in our work ☀️we’ve taken 3 large commissions for unique works and we are excited to tackle them ☀️we’ve connected with so many new perspective clients Also- MN I hear we are getting a significant amount of snow??!!! (Is this true). So, I’m ok here with the sunny and 75! #artfair #travelingartist #mnartist #artfairlife #artfairartist #modernart #woodart #minnesotaartist

Yellow!!! This finish work on our moderns is multi-step. And it’s especially time consuming when we use metallic paint. We’ve found that it’s best to lay a yellow primer down before the gold… so here’s the first coat! Tomorrow, we will sand and spray another primer coat. Next, double frame it … and then spray it allllll gold! Are we crazy for this one??!!! Where could you see this all gold piece living? #contemporaryart #gold #causewhynot

When I heard that sound, I realized I had the perfect story to share! Two years ago, I created the centerpiece of this triptych solely for myself. It was a soul-searching endeavor, with intertwined circles symbolizing my personal journey. It sold swiftly at an art fair, and I moved forward. Then, a year and a half later, a special commission arrived from @northwood_children, a local nonprofit serving our community for over a century. When I receive such requests, creation begins intuitively. Weeks pass as I ponder and listen, eventually drawn back to that center piece- which was the original design that had sold years earlier. I just couldn’t get it out of my head- and I knew that I had to use parts of that original design for this new commission. The original piece, a part of my artistic journey, found new purpose with @northwood_children. Flanked by two identical pieces, mirroring its design, the circles now embody Northwoods’ compassion and history. Each of the 300 lines signifies the 300 children served daily. It’s an honor to realize that as makers and artists, our expressions nourish not only our souls but also our audience’s hearts.#inspiringcommunitythroughart #modernart #contemporaryart

“Hold up… we bought this funeral home for a steal of a deal!” @elizries we absolutely loved having you here!! Thanks to all the amazing folks at @twincitieslive and @visit_duluth for making this happen.

Three and a half years ago, I awoke to Nathanael proposing an unexpected idea: “I think we should buy the old Bell Brothers Funeral Home.” Usually, I’m the one with wild concepts. We had outgrown our first woodshop in the old Texaco gas station, dealt with a leaky warehouse, and decided it was time for a new space. While driving around the Spirit Valley neighborhood in search of a suitable place, we stumbled upon a massive building with a for-sale sign, thinking, “Check out that garage! It’s huge!” Curiosity led us to discover it was a funeral home. Despite initially just seeking a garage, we called our realtor and walked through it. What would we do with 9000 square ft of a FUNERAL home? Walking into the embalming room for the first time was overwhelming—the smells, embalming sinks, and hundreds of used toe tags. It was too much for me. Little did we know, this marked the beginning of our challenging and unconventional small business journey! #UnexpectedIdeas #WoodshopJourney #FromFuneralHomeToArtHaven #SpiritValleyAdventure #SmallBizChallenges #InnovativeBeginnings #CreativeCuriosity #EpicGarageQuest #EmbracingChange #ArtisticVentures #UnconventionalBusiness #CraftingDreams #BellBrothersTransformation #WoodMosaicsStory
