Yesterday was a full moon 🌕…….
Ever wonder why people seem crazy during a full moon? It’s not some weird new age or voodoo thing - it’s a change in your biochemistry. So if you felt a bit off the last few days, you might need your gut checked!
Proper stomach pH is so important. What happens in the stomach affects the rest of the GI tract.
✨ Side note - Patients often ask how they can prevent parasites & other gut infections. We’re always going to be exposed to things, but if you have proper levels of stomach acid, your body can neutralize the pathogen as soon as it enters your system. That’s why I take Zypan when I travel or eat in restaurants - we just don’t know what we’re being exposed to.
I suggest keeping Calcium Lactate in your natural medicine cabinet. If you develop a fever, you’ll be glad you have it!
Side note - the white blood cell boosting benefit of calcium lactate is why it’s a main ingredient in Congaplex.
Did you know all amino acids, both essential and nonessential, must be present to be effective? If you’re getting the essential amino acids in your food, your body can make the others. Most people are not eating enough protein or the right type. You may have plenty of protein in your blood that your body can’t use. Protefood contains the 8 essential amino acids to fill any dietary gaps.
This is one of my favorite posters in the office because it sums up holistic care perfectly. Every patient has stress in each category, some more than others.
Dr. Royal Lee, the founder of Standard Process, was very much ahead of his time. He predicted white flour, refined sugar, and processed foods would result in a chronically sick population. He saw the relationship between nutrient deficiency and disease and recommended eating whole, unadulterated foods.
Love this feedback! Grateful to work with amazing patients and guide them on their health journeys.
Google reviews are always appreciated!
Taking Calcium Lactate and Cataplex F together can help protect you from sunburn. It can be taken daily to boost your overall levels or load up before going in the sun. Depending on the time of day and how long you’re in the sun, you may need to use a sun shirt and/or mineral sunscreen for further protection. Don’t forget about electrolytes in your water too! ☀️
Every muscle has a relationship with an organ. Chronic imbalances in your quads, abdominals, QL, and hamstrings may indicate a digestive dysfunction. When’s the last time you had those muscles tested?
Happy Friday!!
Healthy diet is key to preventing heart disease.
Diets high in refined foods cause inflammation. Trans fats are anything containing hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils - basically anything packaged or with a long shelf life. Read your labels!
Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸
There’s a time and place for medication. You might feel better with it, but that doesn’t mean you’re addressing the root cause. Without healing the root cause, your pain will either continue or move to other areas as a way of compensating. And if diet and lifestyle aren’t addressed, your inflammation levels won’t improve either, limiting your body’s potential for healing. That’s why I practice the way I do - taking the holistic approach.
Heads up for anyone driving from Tampa tomorrow! Plan for heavier traffic if you take Tampa Rd.
Cranial work is great for any patient, even babies. At a seminar this past weekend I got to dive into more specific infant cranial anatomy. Babies love it! And so does their gut health 😉
Just received my certificate for the ACN program I had been working on for the past couple years. It took me a little longer than I thought it would, but that’s okay. I love diving deeper into whole food nutrition and holistic healing protocols. There’s always something new to learn so I can better care for my patients.
Every chiropractic case has a nutrition component. Most patients I treat are mineral deficient to some degree. Trace mineral deficiency can affect ligament health, contributing to an unstable low back.
It’s that time of year when patients are completing the 21-day Purification Cleanse. I love hearing the feedback! The results speak for itself.
Functional lab evaluations are one of my favorite things to do. You can learn so much about a patient’s health by digging deeper.

It’s the first day of school here in Pinellas county! 📚✏️🚌 Help your kids keep their spines happy! "In a new and disturbing trend, young children are suffering from back pain much earlier than previous generations, and the use of overweight backpacks is a contributing factor, according to the American Chiropractic Association (ACA)."
Ain’t that the truth.

Meet Dr. Katie
About
Dr. Katie was born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts. She graduated cm laude from Worcester State University in 2008 with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Shortly after graduation, she applied to Palmer College of Chiropractic.
Dr. Katie graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida in March 2012. During her time at Palmer, she was introduced to Applied Kinesiology. She knew she had found her "niche". After practicing as an associate for over 3 years, she decided to open her own practice. She moved to the Tampa area in January 2016 and has been running her practice within Stillwater Wellness Center in Dunedin. Dr. Katie has been trained in Neuro Emotional Technique (NET), Meridian Autonomic Testing (MAT), and Quintessential Applications (QA). She has over 250 hours in Applied Kinesiology training.
