Had the pleasure of meeting Doug Jackson and touring SV Seeker a few weeks ago. Got to share my passion with a man who’s YouTube message is to encourage people to chase their passion.
Doug invited me back to do so work on the boat a couple weeks later, where I got to spend some time with him and it was captured in one of his YouTube videos.
Doug is as genuine as he is in his videos a sincere man who has shared his passion with the internet and in return got help building a wonderful boat. I’m honored to be apart of the community he built. Enjoy the video!

Last coat of epoxy on the topside and transom today. Time to reflect back on this project and this special weekend. Im fortunate to be able to chase my passions, building and racing boats. Im very much aware just how fortunate I am as if weren’t for those Americans willing to lay down their lives for this great country I would not be able to do this. On always remember and never forget those who died in defense of this great country.
From the boat shop, dry fit the coamings today.
Working on the helm for Rocks.
Rocks all decked out! They say you can never have enough clamps.
Progress from the boat shop this week on “Rocks”! Keel has been mounted, bottom fared and flat and fifth coat of epoxy done.
Here is the latest issue of the Happy Hour Newsletter.
The Happy Hour Newsletter - April 2023 It’s April, the month of foolishness, when young cocktail racers tear the covers off their Skuas and the smell of five-month-old gasoline fumes (not to mention the half a fossilized ham and blue cheese sandwich mashed behind the starboard flotation bag) engender flights of fancy – clear water ah...
On the “Rocks” this Sunday in the boat shop. Prepped for glass.

Today was as close as you can come to a keel laying on my next Cocktail Class Race Boat. The tradition of a keel lay ceremony is to ensure good luck during the building process. It was unfortunately unceremoniously done.
Started the build of “Rocks”, the twin to “Neat”. Plywood is being cut and soon sanded. More pics and videos to follow!
What a way to end the season! Great hospitality at a fantastic venue! Looking forward to returning!
A 10-15 knot SSW breeze raised a chop on Fairlee Creek, but that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm and excitement for the CCWBRA's season end, Oktoberfest Regatta, held for the first time at Safe Harbor Great Oak Landing on October 15. Check out race results and some great videos from the event! https://ccwbra.com/2022/11/14/oktoberfest-2022/
2022 CCWBRA Kent Island Regatta | PropTalk Pity the poor Cocktail Class racer who wasn’t at the CCWBRA Kent Island Regatta on September 10 at Kent Island Yacht Club.
Just getting around to posting from the last race of the year. I was up in Maryland at Safe Harbor Great Oak Landing for The Ccwbra Cocktail Class Wooden Boat Racing October Fest.
I was inducted into the prestigious Turtle Club. I was told it was not if but When you become a member. I was not however expecting the water to be so cold.
