🌳 Pick up a native tree seedling. While supplies last, guests can receive a free Sugar maple, Winged elm, or Laurel cherry tree from our Ask an Arborist booth.
🌳 Enter to win a backyard compost bin, rain barrel, or native wildflower garden starter kit from our Cary It Green booth.
🌳 Chat with environmental experts to learn about composting, native plants, birds, tree care, going toward zero waste, gardening, and more.
🌳 Bring your kiddos for free face painting, make-and-take crafts, and a nature-themed play area.
🌳 Enjoy food and drink for sale, live music, and more as we celebrate 41 years as a Tree City USA community!

We’re excited to kick off the 4th of July celebrations in a BIG way this Sunday, July 2 in Downtown Smithfield! First up is the Red White & Brews Food Truck Rodeo from 1-6pm in the 100 block of S. Third Street. We have a great lineup of food trucks (Death By Taco, From The Ashes, Hotboxraleigh, Kings Breakfast & More, Old Fashioned Ice Cream, PARD 'N' THA SMOKE BBq, Stavi's, and Tacos mamá chava) and local breweries (Crank Arm Brewing Company, Crossbones Brewing, Fainting Goat Brewing Company, Benson, and JoCo Brewing Company) planning to join us, and the bar at SoDoSoPa will also be open for drinks!

Then head over the the Neuse River Amphitheater at 150 S. Front Street at 6pm for Smithfield's Independence Celebration and more awesome food trucks (Celtic Creamery JOCO, The CheeseSteak Factory , Fired Up Pizza & BBQ, Sweet Southern SnoBalls, and TAL Dreams, live music from Spare Change, water slides and activities, and a spectacular fireworks display starting at approximately 9:15!

It’s going to be an awesome day, and we can’t wait to see you there!
