Greater Emmanuel Temple of Grace (GETG) is hosting its 13th Annual Back to School Community Day, which will remain indoors, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024, in their Family Life Enrichment Center Building. Free backpacks with school supplies and food will be given out to residents courtesy of M&F Bank, Healthy Blue NC, Tropicana Supermarket -Durham, NC, Super Compare Foods, King's Red & White Market, Gift of Knowledge Academy, The Armstrong Center for Hope, and DurhamCares. In addition, information from various community organizations will also be distributed. GETG is centrally located within 2 miles of 3 elementary schools (Y.E. Smith Elementary, Eastway Elementary School, and Maureen Joy Charter School) and is the home of the Gift of Knowledge Learning Academy. For 13 years, GETG has been blessed to experience the outpouring of support from its community partners through attendance, letters of support, and in-kind or monetary donations.We are still accepting donations to serve our community’s residents this weekend.
