Excellent performance by the Eagle Pass Youth Sports Center boxing team last weekend in the South Texas Junior Olympics Championships. The team obtained 3 gold and 5 silver medals from the 8 participants: The gold medals were obtained by Maite Chapa in the 132 pounds at the sub novice Division being her first medal. The reyes brothers also obtained gold medal, Manuel "Dinamita" obtained his first Olympic medal in the 70 pound novice division and Daniela "La Barbie" Reyes obtained her second gold in two consecutive years in the 132-pounds in the Novice División, Diego "Tin Tan" Saldivar in the 95 pounds (open division), Armando "Polvorita" Cantu in the 75 pounds (Novice División) & Jeremiah Rocha in the 145 pounds ( Novice División)lost in the final, but leaving everything in the ring and losing by split decision and last but not least the new team members Isaac Rocha in the 125 pounds ( Sub Novice División) and Marlone Mena who participated for the first time in a boxing tournament lost in the finals to also receive the silver medal. The board of directors and the Director and trainer Alfonso Mallen, congratulated the 8 participants for being the first time in history the Eagle Pass Youth Sports Center that all participants qualify for the finals.
Congratulations to Joel “El Gallito” Rodrigues and Cesar Villarreal Jr. Who were elected member of month of January (Joel) & February (Cesar) for their dedication, discipline and consistency in this difficult sport such as boxing. Congratulations Joel & Cesar, god bless you & keep up the good work and remember you can do it if you put your mind to it 🥊💪

Mateo Santoyo was selected June's Participant of the Month for his commitment to come to the gym every day and showing dedication and discipline to improve in the sport of boxing.
Boxers from the Eagle Pass Youth Sports Center and Federal Border Patrol Agents declare themselves ready for the Annual Battle of the Badges Boxing Event that will take place this coming Saturday, September 17, at the International Center for Trade(ICT). The community is invited to come out and have fun while supporting the Eagle Pass Youth Sports Center in raising funds for their programs. Doors will open at 5:00 pm and first bell will be at 6:00 pm. $10.00 general admission and for table reservation or for more information call Mr. Alfonso Mallen at (830)968-3747.

ANNUAL BATTLE OF THE BADGES
The Eagle Pass Youth Sports Center basketball team wins at Laredo, Texas.
Last Sunday, July 10, the Eagle Pass Youth Sports Center team won first place at the 2022 Hot Summer Tournament held in the city of Laredo, Texas. In the first game of the day they beat Team Lab Hoops in a very close game 42 - 41 to advance to the second round. In the second game they won with a little more advantage but without ceasing to be an exciting game 39 - 30 to advance to the finals to play against a difficult team that in past tournaments had beaten the EPYSC team, but this time and with more desire to win, they were able to beat the DCBA team from Laredo, Texas and thus win the championship. Congratulations to the team and its coach Francisco Villarreal
The Eagle Pass Youth Sports Center presents its 8th grade youth basketball team: Austin Arellano #5, Ruben Martínez #1, Francisco Villarreal III #0, Leelynd Libson #4, Mourice Homes #24, Damian Villarreal #11, Julian Herrera #2, Emilio Guevara #3, Sebastian Velasquez #8, Joey Galvan #12, Nathan Carreño #13, Alex Perez #6 and Coach Frank Villarreal. The team will be playing tomorrow in San Antonio, Texas at the Battle in the Alamo Tournament
the EPYSC Basketball Team winns 2nd place at the Premier Athletic/Texas Tournament at Laredo, Tx. EPYSC Basketball Team Winn 2nd place in the Athletic/Texas Tournament held this past Sunday, May 15 at Laredo, Texas. Results were the following: The following teams participated, 956 Elite, Lab Hoops, Ballers, DCBA, Blackout & EPYSC Team. The results and scores were; in the first game the EPYSC defeated Lab Hoops 48-17, in the second and semifinal game, they won over 956 Elite Team 28-45 to advance for the championship against Ballers loosing 21-41 to obtained the second place of the 8th grade division. we congratulate the whole team for their great performance in this tournament
