The Cottages Assisted Living

Challenged the memory care folks in Weiser with a deck of pinochle cards and a 100-piece puzzle. And they rose to the challenge! We played three matching games (suit, number, and straight), then I played war with each of them. They kicked my can. Then we worked on this puzzle for 30 minutes, and all four of them worked on it the whole time. I was so proud of them, and they were proud of themselves!

In Weiser celebrated Ruth’s 93rd birthday! She was thrilled! Ruth is a grand lady, indeed! She even humored us by wearing the birthday hat.

Mtn Home had a busy li'l baker helping. She has a special zucchini bread recipe that is awesome! Thank you for making our day extra special!

Our Emmett residents thoroughly enjoyed National Ice Cream Day! Lorena made sure we were prepared by getting cream sandwiches for after lunch, and everything we needed to make the cutest little sundaes after dinner!

We had an amazing lunch at Marie Calendars today! Comfort food at its best! And did I mention the pie?!

The Mt Home fun bus got to experience the beauty and grace of 'Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church' in Oreana.

The country store was open today at the Cottages at Alpine Meadows! And we had a great time shopping for a variety of goodies!

We took Sally and Mary Lou from Boise, and Carol and Sherry from Lochsa out for a delightful lunch at Olive Garden! After they polished off their lunches we all shared Italian donuts. What a lovely afternoon!

Christmas in July PJ Party in Mt Home? Check! Couch potatoes for the day? Check! We relished homemade fries, milkshakes, and peach smoothies while watching classic movies, relaxing; enjoying our day. Corrine won the PJ Party Smile. Thank you, Jane, for this activity idea.

It’s been an incredibly fun day at the Colombia Village Cottages! The fun was not temporary, but the tattoos were. Yesterday was National Tattoo Day, so we thought it would be fun to share some history of tattoos and where they originate. The residence also chose their own temporary tattoo. It was so fun to see their joy when the tattoos were on.

One of our favorite activities at the Cottages at Alpine Meadows is Show and Tell. Where we get to share our treasures and stories.

Thank you so much to Darcy and White Oak Hospice for coming and spoiling my residents here in Payette! They enjoyed snow cones out on the patio. We appreciate you so much! I also want to thank Tami from Canyon Home Care and Hospice for also coming and enjoying the day with us!!

Investing in our team is an important part of the culture here at The Cottages. Because of this, our home office management team and other team members held down the fort so our executive directors and their assistants could spend an amazing few days at the Idaho Health Care Association convention. They received important updates about state regulations and learned new strategies to provide amazing care for our residents. This is one of the many reasons The Cottages is a pretty great place to work!

Tarps aren't just for rainy days anymore! We used ours to create a hilarious game of Whack-a-Mole (staff edition). The laughter was contagious, and before we knew it, we were drenching each other.

Happy Birthday Jerry! thanks to Jerry's daughter for bringing a cake. Also thanks to Community Cakes for also bringing a cake on Monday. He had a great family gathering.

A trip to McDonald's for a ice cream cone. Yummy! Itwas sure good on this hot day. We had a young man that took fantastic care of us. Jake even got a cup of water.

We were so excited to find the "camels in Kuna" on our bus ride today.
One of our residents was brave enough to get close to them. It was such a fun experience to be up close to all the camels.
We had a fun afternoon.
