Our Story

At Painted Sky Alpaca Farm & Fiber Mill, we offer complete fiber processing services as well raising and selling quality Huacaya Alpacas (pronounced whah-kai-ah) and products made from their incredible fiber.

Farm & Mill Tours:
Leave the hustle, bustle, stress and hectic lifestyle for a few hours to relax and enjoy these amazing animals. From the moment you walk into the fields with them, you will feel a calming sensation often times called "Alpaca Magic". Alpacas are very gentle and extremely inquisitive creatures. They love meeting you just as much as you will love meeting them. And when we say meet, we don't mean over a fence line. We take you right into the fields so you can actually interact with the Alpacas. Our tour guides are very knowledgeable and experienced individuals who will ensure you have an amazing hands-on learning experience.
Tour Fee - $10 per person (ages 10 and up)
All proceeds from our tours go directly towards the care and maintenance of our Alpacas to help offset the rising costs of feed, hay, and medical care.

Fiber Mill Services:
We offer total fiber processing services for all types of natural fibers. Our services include tumbling, washing, dyeing, picking, separating (dehairing), carding, draw frame, spinning, plying, steaming, skeining and coning.

Alpaca Sales:
With our Alpacas, we always strive to enhance the quality of our animals through selective breeding. We look at the attributes of our females and then select a male that exhibits higher qualities thereby always increasing the value of our animals. The attributes we consider are physical conformation, fleece characteristics, color genetics, and temperament of each parent. If you are interested in purchasing one of our quality alpacas, stop by our farm and we'll be happy to introduce you.

Alpaca Mentor Farm:
If you are interested in starting your own alpaca business, come and spend some time with us and we'll tell you all about the pros and cons so you can make a more informed decision. And when you are ready, we'll help you get your business up and running with a quality starter herd.

Agisting Services:
For those of you who simply love alpacas but don't have the acreage or shelter to bring them home, no problem. We offer complete agisting services so all you have to do is to come visit and give them lots of hugs.

Alpaca Adoption:
The perfect gift for those alpaca lovers who would like to share in the Alpaca Lifestyle without the responsibilities of ownership!

For a yearly fee of $250, you can adopt an alpaca of your choice. We will provide
you with information on the alpacas that are available for adoption along with descriptions of their personality and other traits to help you select your special alpaca.
