I have a love hate relationship with HS football games! I love being there to support Asher and watch him get so excited to be involved and get the ball + so many other things! I also hate how hard competitive sports can be with coaches, officials and players that can ruin things.

Asher is staying strong with all the hard things so far as a freshman at Red Mountain HS.

He turns 14 today and I'm so proud of who he is becoming! We got to take him to his favorite restaurant last night and I love seeing him so happy. I hope he knows how amazing he is!
Each time that Curtis and I get to spend just the three of us after his football games have been wonderful.

I can't believe this is my first baby! I wish he would stop counting down the days until he can drive! I'm happy for him to grow up but, not that fast!

I had a great, soul searching, birthday last week!

Right after midnight the morning of my birthday I was in a familiar state when another year passes and I don't recognize myself.

Who am I? Why am I not who/where I should be? What is stopping me?

Perfectionism... Procrastination... Overwhelm... Chronic fight or flight... Disregulation... People pleasing... Exhaustion

I failed while trying to cry quietly in my bed and accidentally woke up Curtis. He held me quietly while I sobbed, shaking, breathing frantically. I started spewing everything on my mind, my feelings, the usually "I don't know what's wrong" "I don't know how to fix it" after a while I got everything out and felt better.

I woke at the normal time for the last day of school & Ambree woke up early! We got to celebrate a great twinning birthday. She turned 4 this year on my 38th birthday. Free breakfast out, playing, nap, dinner out, Elijiah's graduation and of course cookies + milk. Practicing being present.

Close to midnight I heard an audio on IG about a Mother being asked what she wanted to be when she grew up. When the audio said Mom, it was the clarity I had been wanting just 24 hours earlier.

I am exactly what I always wanted to be. I always just wanted to be a Mom. I would tell people and Curtis that all I wanted was to be a Mom. The most fulfilling purpose of my creation. I am so better with them here, so blessed and so much better for remembering who I am. Even though it feels like the overwhelm and survival mode started when Asher was born 13+years ago with postpartum that I didn't know how to manage, I at least know what to call it now. I am where I'm supposed to be and I'm so determined to get this overwhelmed under control.

I'm grateful to know that I am a daughter of God. I am grateful for tender mercies like this 24hr experience. I'm grateful for my noble companion holding my hand through all of this. I'm grateful for each of my choice spirits that call me Mom.
