BREAKING: Two Senators have re-introduced the Dream Act in the U.S. Senate today!

If passed, the bill would provide a pathway to citizenship for certain undocumented immigrants who arrived in the U.S. at a young age.

It is important to note that this bill has been introduced since 2001. Although introducing the bill in the Senate is important, the possibility of the Dream Act passing Congress is very slim.

We are thrilled to announce that is back!

Today some folks in our team stood in solidarity with our beloved and familia.

When I heard the news of Half Moon Bay my heart sank.
This small but beautiful city is one of the cities where we have been doing outreach since 2020 and we have a beautiful relationship with the local Farmworker community.
My first instinct was to drive up there to be in community with our familia.
I was able to spend my lunch break in between classes with them today and God, it felt so right to be there! My heart and soul just needed to be there.
The coast side was dealing with the big hit of the floods and now this too.

If you have ever been to the ALAS Casita you know the energy that runs there. That beautiful energy was there today too despite the back to back tragedies.
We hugged
We broke bread
We spoke
We cried
We laughed in the midst of it all
It felt like home as always! 💕

Before the Lodi campesinos leave the camps for their winter break we had the opportunity to spend quality time before the holidays and brought all the children gifts, the campesinos food and great quality thick socks to keep them warm this season.

Winter is only getting worse and this is beautiful opportunity to come together and care for our unsheltered community. We’re excited to go back out and host one of our favorite holiday drives “Socks of Love”! I’m blessed to share that has donated a large donations of socks so now it’s our goal to gather volunteers, prepare blessing care packages and a provide a hot warm meals!

Further, and yet again the LGBTQIA community is targeted. Ironically, and in a painful coincidence, during the national Transgender Day of Remembrance.

In this week of Thanksgiving, we offer acknowledgment and gratitude to the leaders, activists, and organizations who dedicate their entire selves to battling anti-LGBTQIA, anti-Black, and anti-immigrant structural oppression, and hate. Many of you have our funding support, but we are with you morally and spiritually as well. Those among you who are Q***r and/or Trans affected by this senseless tragedy, my thoughts and spirit are with you in prayer and in other ways. You are me, and I am you. At TCE, we will not rest until the full and unapologetic inclusion of Dr. Martin Luther King’s Beloved Community is attained in California and across our nation.

HUGE NEWS for families stuck at the border seeking asylum!!

• “A federal judge on Tuesday blocked Title 42 – a controversial rule that’s allowed US authorities to expel more than 1 million migrants who crossed the US-Mexico border.

Tuesday’s court order leaves the Biden administration without one of the key tools it had deployed to address the thousands of migrants arriving at the border on a daily basis and could restore access to asylum for arriving migrants.

While the rule was drafted by the Trump administration during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Biden administration has relied heavily on it to manage the increase of migrants at the border.”
