The French Garden Market

This area needed a little refresh today, so I rearranged the brown wall cubby. The new ceramic pottery vases in soft ivory and sage greens are the perfect addition for this composition. The cute 3 birds on top of the wall cubby are made from resin and the little chickadee birds in some of the cubbies are iron.

Any peacock lovers out there? This is a beautiful teal glazed ceramic peacock. Made in Portugal. Only one available.

What a gem this will be when it’s completed! This will be very good for Edgefield.

It’s an inventory management kind of day around here. Here’s a little sneak peak of the arrival of some of our fall merchandise. Look how cute these porcelain squirrel lidded jars are and how the light shines through these dark green glass pumpkins! Look for these to be available by the end of the month.

These beautiful plant stands arrived yesterday. They match the green birdbaths and garden bench, and have that same wonderful green patina. We have two of each size. Imagine them filled with seasonal autumn golden mums, or those gorgeous plums and pink tones! They will be perfect for your front porch, courtyard or back veranda.

Part of the joy of being a shopkeeper and retail business owner is learning what resonates with your customers and continuing to have the products available that they have come to enjoy. The little mini soaps are one such item! Some of you have shared that you put them on a pillow or bedside table for arriving over night guests. How sweet and thoughtful.

Candles have been restocked. On a rainy day, it’s always nice to curl up with a good book and enjoy the aroma of a scented candle. I will be placing an order for fall candles soon. What is your favorite candle scent for the autumn season?

Even in the midst of a rainstorm, there’s a magical glow of light coming through the front windows of the shop. It’s hard to fully capture. Thank you to my customers and friends today for stopping by in between the rain showers.

The new Town of Edgefield brochure maps are out! These look great and will definitely help our out of town shoppers and restaurant patrons.

The French Garden Market is located just off Main Street. You will turn at the corner of Main St and Lynch St.

The plantable moss Gazebo bird feeder or birdhouse is a new addition for our shop. There is a plastic liner on the inside of the gazebo for bird seed. We also think once this is planted up, many birds would like to build their home right here nestled among pretty pansies.

The smaller Maison style moss birdhouse has latches on the bottom for easy care maintenance and makes a lovely addition for small birds to nest in among your landscape.

We love it that the hand painted mural that is located on Lynch Street showcases the French Connection with the Town of Edgefield. I remember when this was installed years ago. It’s interesting how little details like this from the past continue to connect to the present. The French Garden Market definitely is on the correct street!

Writing a thank you card or a handwritten note to let someone know you’re thinking of them never goes out of style. These beautiful notecard sets are nice to keep on your own desk to use yourself or great as a hostess gift.

Do you have a rain gauge? These gauges stake into a plant and become part of your plant scape. They are iron with a hard plastic rain collector. I love the patina of these!

The beautiful white bench that everyone loves is back in stock. It’s the perfect addition for your front porch or courtyard.

A few photos around the shop today. You will notice the green metal garden bench that matches the adorable green metal bird bath with little birdies that everyone loved the other day.

This green birdbath looks even better outside then in the shop! The adorable little birds and the scroll base sets this apart from others. Did you know that there’s also a green bench that matches it? Our shop hours are 10-5pm Tuesday-Friday and 10-4pm on Saturday.

We added to our curb appeal this weekend. Having an attractive and inviting exterior atmosphere is important to us. We found these square concrete planters on clearance and placed three of them along the sidewalk to add additional beauty to the Lynch Street streetscape.

The French Garden Market brings European-inspired shop to downtown Edgefield The French Garden Market, a new business in downtown Edgefield, is European-inspired garden shops that sells garden products like flower pots, candles, more.

How cute are these Jack Rabbit iron wall hooks? These are adorable and perfect to spruce up a mud room or hang by your back door.

Need a gift basket idea or summer hostess gift? Start with a peach scented candle or peach botanical tea towel and then add from there. The notecards and peach cookbook are excellent additions! And, don’t forget the sweet peaches.

It’s the perfect day to stock up on some Edgefield County peaches at Sara's Fresh Market or Cook's Roadside Market on the way to our shop!

We are open today, Wednesday, July 3rd from 10:00am - 5:00pm. In observance of July 4th, Independence Day, we will be closed on Thursday. We will reopen Friday, July 5th from 10:00am - 5:00pm. Saturday, July 6th we are open 10:00am - 4:00pm, and it will mark our 1 month in business!

We added another etagere to the corner of this room and added some new wall art and merchandise. It has a much better flow for customers to browse as well as giving us more display areas.

We are loving our new display etagere. This was a gift from my husband yesterday. It reminds us of a large bird cage and has a very Parisian feel to it. It’s perfect for the shop!
