It was great watching these seniors play together for the last time as they represented Edinburg Vela at today’s Senior All Star Showcase for the Rio Grande Valley Basketball Coaches Association.

We are truly going to miss our seniors and everything they brought to our Sabercat basketball program.

Last night, we celebrated our Sabercat Varsity team at the 2023-2024 banquet hosted by our Basketball Booster. We are so proud of our boys and all of their achievements this season.
Special thanks to Coach Lucio and all the Sabercat coaches for their leadership and guidance on a successful season!
We’re also grateful to all our families, friends, and Sabercat fans for their dedication and support.
A special shoutout to our seniors—we wish you the very best and we know you’ll achieve great things!

Our RVHS Sabercat boys - Senior Axel Garza, Senior EJ Avelar, and Junior JP Olivarez - were selected to play at the Rio Sports Live 3rd Annual Basketball Showcase. They won their first two games today and will advance to the semi-finals tomorrow at the Bert Ogden Arena at 10:30 AM. A win there means advancing to the championship at 3:00 PM.
