Troop Meetings are every Monday 7:00pm at Vista Ysleta United Methodist Church (11860 Rojas Dr, El Paso, TX 79936). We welcome everyone boys and girls from 11 to 17 years old.

A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. A leader goes above and beyond and represents the Scout Oath and the twelve points of the Scout Law. We want to recognize four Scouts who demonstrated the values that every Scout should follow to become an upstanding member within the Troop and the Community.

A Scout is Friendly. A Scout is friend to all. They are brothers and sisters to other Scouts. They offer friendship to people of all races and nations, and respects them even if their beliefs and customs are different from their own.

Today we had an amazing Cubs Klondike at White Sands with over 200 Cubs and Scouts participating!

Hiking Adventure

We had the privilege to Award Brandi Arnolds who earned the Wood Badge. We also practiced Scouting songs and set up details for our upcoming hike and Indoor Climbing activity!

Tonight Troop 279 BSA, El Paso, TX and Pack 279 BSA, El Paso, TX celebrate Blue and Gold Banquet. The purpose is to celebrate the Scouts anniversary, thank pack leaders and other adults who have helped the pack, and inspire the leaders, Scouts, and parents!

Today we celebrate Scout Sunday. A Scout is reverent. They are reverent toward God. They are faithful in their religious duties and respects the convictions of others in matters of custom and religion. The BSA Statement of Religious Principle “maintains that no member can grow into the best kind of citizen without recognizing an obligation to God.”

Today our Troop 279 BSA, El Paso, TX together with Pack 279 BSA, El Paso, TX Cub Scout Pack 279 - El Paso, TX and Troopeightyfive Eptx passed out flyers at the neighborhood for next weekend to pick them up.

The Scout slogan is “Do a Good Turn Daily.” It is part of the third point of the Scout Law - “A Scout is helpful.” And it is part of your Scout Oath - “… to help other people at all times.”

Newsletter February 2024

We had an amazing night during our Monthly Awards Ceremony for Troop 279 BSA, El Paso, TX. Our Scouts were recognized for the incredible performance and team work during Scouts Klondike. We want to congratulate Kellen Soundber for being selected as Scout of the month and Kristopher Tarango for being selected as leadership of the month. Keep working hard and learning, one day you guys will be an Eagle that will fly high into the sky!

Our Troop 279 BSA, El Paso, TX Patrol Leaders Council prepared the calendar for 2024. Tonight the Parents, Leaders and Committee met to refine our calendar for the next months. A lot of good outdoor activities are coming up developed from youth to teach youths with the opportunity for our Scouts to earn many merit badges, awards and have fun!

Our upcoming events include:
- Monthly overnights
- Monthly hikes
- Summer Camp
- Several community services
- Fun activities that will include super trip, climbing, swimmer clases, horsemanship, animal care, golf lessons, canoeing and more!

Details for the upcoming activities will be announced at our regular Troop meetings every Monday 0700 at Vista Ysleta United Methodist Church We will keep posting upcoming events on the Stack Team App.

Cub Scout Pack 279 - El Paso, TX, Pack 279 BSA, El Paso, TX

Tonight our Troop 279 BSA, El Paso, TX worked on their painting the Patrol Flags, review for Totin Chip, and planning our next month outdoor activities!

We also want to congratulate Christopher “Brock” Rodriguez on Earnig his Eagle Rank today. Christopher is the first Scout to earn Eagle Scout from Yucca Council, Boy Scouts of America on 2024!

Christopher: Your journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Every step, every merit badge, and every challenge led you to this moment of great achievement. Congratulations on becoming an Eagle Scout, and may your path always lead you to greatness!
