Today we celebrated a group of 35 fifth graders and 10 high school/ college mentors as they completed the Fall Club Ophelia at Bear Creek. One the students asked to speak on why she appreciated Club Ophelia and it’s focus on bullying prevention. Without a doubt, these are challenging times for young people. 33% of EASD students say that they felt sad or depressed most days in the past 12 months and 23% report that they experienced some type of bullying. Students that reported experiencing bullying through texting and social media are significantly more likely to experience depression and use drugs and alcohol. Program like Club Ophelia make a difference. Please support EACTC in the Extra Give this year to ensure that programs like Club Ophelia can continue to be available to kids at no cost. https://www.extragive.org/organizations/elizabethtown-area-communities-that-care #elizabethtownpa

EACTC was very proud to recognize these four amazing students for Doing the Right Thing! Each of them demonstrated empathy, caring, and friendship for other students at their school. It was truly inspiring to see how these young people have absolute hearts of gold! Thank you for making Elizabethtown a better community by being kind and caring for others. Put the sound on for some audio from the students on what motivated them to Do The Right Thing.
Thank you to Brandt's Farm Supply for being an amazing business sponsor for this month's Do The Right Thing recognition program. #elizabethtownpa #etownschools Elizabethtown Area School District
Today PEP Club students shared their interests and special talents with each other and their mentors. One student wrote a story and had fellow PEP students act some of the roles. Two students played their instruments and one student sang a song. Quite the talented group, right?!!
We saw Santa and Rudolph at Mill Road this morning! And he said that he loves the Do The Right Thing program!
The Do the Right Thing winners for April are Sara Yowell, a 7th grader in the Middle School, and Devlin Dowhower, a kindergarten student at Mill Road. Sara was recognized for being the only student to help a cafeteria worker clean up a spill, Devlin, for turning in money he found at the school. Head Over Heels Salon was this award month’s business sponsor. Way to go Sara and Devlin!
