Motta Bellissimo Painting

Tis the season for exteriors. This laguna gem received quite a bit of attention. We used almost two boxes of lifetime caulking on all the joints and water intrusion entry points. All surfaces received two coats, but some received three. Even though this house is 1900sqft, it drank up 50 gallons of super premium PPG paints. It should be looking good for another ten years.

Contemporary Redwood fence gets a good soaking of penetrating timber oil. Penetrating oils allow the wood to breathe, prevent water absorption, and will allow ease of reapplication in the future. This fence should stay looking Bellissimo for years to come.

We refinished this kitchen back in 2014, and we were invited back to paint the new cabinets to match the old.
The new addition included the wine rack, space for a wine fridge, and microwave. We did have to repaint around the new hood and where the old splash came up on the cabinets. Most of the cabinets were still in such great shape that they just needed some touch up after they were cleaned. The new cabinets were primed with two coats of sanding sealer, two coats of white acrylic urethane, glazed, and then received two more coats of clear urethane. All existing cabinets received two coats of clear urethane.

Another job, Bellissimo!

These clients weren’t ready to paint the entire house, so we repaired and repainted trim, some doors and shutters.
Maintenance is the key to keeping repairs to a minimum.

Fireplace transformation
Removed the mirror and the drywall to expose the brick. Then we fixed the drywall around it, primed and painted. The brick was given a light dusting of reduced paint and was sealed with flat urethane. We painted over the dated brass on the insert and topped the brick mantel with a custom built wood mantel.

Another fun interior project. There was a wallpaper boarder, so instead of removing and most likely needing to float out the damage and texture we made the decision to add a double stack picture rail. We also brightened up the room with a brighter white and a lighter more neutral wall color. All the trim was painted to match the ceiling white for a timeless look.

More interior transformations:
These are return clients of almost 20 years.
Getting rid of some wild color and going with a neutral earth tone. Trim and ceilings were done in a brighter white, it completely changed the personality of the room, and so much brighter.
We are currently deciding on a limewash/faux finish on the fireplace. We removed the mirror above the fireplace and the drywall to expose the brick, and repaired and textured the drywall around the brick.

Black on white and per request all semigloss. The white really frames the space, and the black gives the space an interesting depth.

Another room makeover:
Acoustic ceiling scraped then floated to imperfect smooth. All damage cracks in the plaster were repaired and primed. All woodwork was prepped and every surface was painted twice. Everything was done by hand. Ceiling fan and sconces were removed and upgraded.

Room makeovers:
Removed popcorn ceilings in both rooms and textured to match the existing texture throughout the house. Both rooms had wallpaper that needed to be removed and or primed with white pigmented shellac to properly seal. All trim need to be primed and sanded. All new texture was primed. All surfaces received two coats finish.
We removed the ceiling fans and installed new LED lights.
These rooms required quite a bit of knowledge in products, preparation, and experience in application.
When hiring a contactor you should look for one with experience to achieve the results you should expect.

This East Sac cutie got a good polishing. We had some dry rot repair as always. We used all super premium products because labor is the most expensive aspect of the job, so why not spend a little more to get an exponentially better finished product.

This was a fun project. I switched hats and threw down some carpentry skills adding crown to this Georgian style crib in the fab40s.

The door on this house was fairly weathered and it would have taken a great deal of prep to bring it back to life. Instead the door was sanded and a walnut gel stain was applied. The beauty of gel stain is that it will adhere to most surfaces and can be top coated with a urethane or varnish.
As I figured the darker door works better with the color palette on the house. Bellissimo!
