•Grace• Miss girl needed more dimension in her life but did not want it all the way to her roots so balayage it is!! ••••••••• Now you may be wondering how she keeps this long hair so healthy after the lifting process, so, let’s talk about it! Things I typically suggest is: • using less heat of course but if you need to, make sure you’re using heat protection! My fave is by @sebastianpro_official • only use bonding shampoo like @olaplex when you NEED it. It’s an amazing product that adds protein back into the hair but over use can cause too much protein and make the hair start to break. Try a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, my favorite is from @pureology !! • lastly use a moisture hair mask once every couple washes for about 10-30 minutes! My fav is the No. 8 by @olaplex. You could also add in a light oil to your ends daily to keep them from getting to dry. Aadra• We got this girly bright and blonde for her senior year! I’m so happy with the blended low maintenance turn out we were able to achieve! •••••••••• Drug Store shampoos… let’s talk about why they can be so damaging and strip out color, toners, ect! • TOO MUCH WATER! Water dilutes the ingredients in the shampoo making you use more and, in return, having to buy more of their products! Professional shampoos are more concentrated allowing you to use sparingly, therefore, saving money not having to buy a new bottle every week! • SILICONE! Commonly found in drugstore conditioners to “increase the shininess of the hair” but it’s actually adding more buildup making it difficult for you hair to absorb moisture. At first it makes your hair feel silky smooth but later on it makes your hair feel tacky and dull. • SULFATES! Sodium Lauryl Sulfates (SLS) is common in shampoos to make it easier to lather but is actually harsh on the hair by stripping it from essential oils it needs to stay healthy, lock in your color, grow, and breakdown protein. • SODIUM AND SALT!! Both are unfortunately in many drugstore shampoos to “add texture” and increase the shelf life. What they don’t like to explain is they both can cause hair loss by affecting your hormonal balance along with causing a dry and itchy scalp that leads to dandruff! My favorite shampoo is by @sebastianpro_official ! It is the Sebastian Drench Shampoo and Conditioner, it brings you so much moisture WITHOUT weighing your hair down! @surfacehairhealth also carries amazing all natural shampoos that make you feel amazing!
