The herringbone tshirt quilt design never disappoints!

A follow up to my previous post…she let me create one of each design!

I have a current commission for three memorial quilts made from men's shirts. These are three basic digital design options so far. Pockets and collars will be included. The final placement of the shirts will change to make sure colors, prints and values are coordinated and dispersed. Once the pieces are cut, all will be laid out and mulled over for at least a day before the shirt placements become settled. I wonder which designs she'll choose!

Over the years some customers have asked if I can include baseball cap logos or emblems into their quilts. If it’s a handful of cloth caps, I’m game. But some of the hats are a bit stiff and too many might change the literal feel of the quilt. Instead I’ve opted to offer pillow covers or wall hangings made from portions of the caps. They’re great for dorm rooms or basements. If you’re willing to let me take the caps apart, I’m willing to turn the collection into a unique pillow!

I had some lovely customer Christmas gift commissions this year! This Notre Dame t shirt quilt was one of them.

I am a bit different from other memory quilt makers in that I create digital design options for customers. Whether you like the symmetry of grids, columns, or a creative mosaic style as shown below, I'm happy to work on designs until you're happy with the style, colors and price. The photo on the left is the digital design approved by the customer. Photo on the right is the customer's photo of the quilt. A soft charcoal gray minky fabric was used on the back of this quilt to make it a snuggly warm comfort for these cold winter days!

Bring up the bins of sentimental baby clothes from the basement. Clean out the college student’s dresser drawers of t-shirts, jerseys and sweatshirts. Then contact me and I’ll create a custom memory quilt for you!

This college freshman was gifted his high school memories in a quilt that was made to help celebrate his college days at the U of Alabama. We found a lovely black and white houndstooth fabric for the backing and for the coordinating pillow cover. Roll Tide!

I’ve gotten out of the habit of photographing quilts before they are shipped out. With fewer helpers at home now along with the snowy mess outside, only client pics get posted. Love the snuggly baby clothes quilts!
