Fragrance preferences are so personal.
When I first started on my candlemaking journey many years ago, I naĆÆvely assumed floral fragrances were the most popular. Boy was I wrong!
So I want to ask you, what is your favorite fragrance profile? Floral? Perfumy? Earthy and woody? Gourmand? Spicy? There are too many to list š
Iād love to know what YOU love!
Which Farmhouse kitchen is your favorite? Iām nearing the end of my light and bright era and easing into the more earthy vibe, maybe even a bit moody? One thing you can always count on, there will always be a candle in my kitchen!

Lots of new things coming to the candle shop. This is a sneak peak at something Iām really excited about. Thank you for working with me and doing an amazing job printing and binding these beauties! I canāt wait to share them with you all!
As a kid growing up I have fond memories of my parents taking us to a local dairy and buying milk in glass bottles in a wire 6 pack bottle holder. These are fond memories of my childhood and I wanted to turn those memories into a candle.
This is such a deviation from my normal vibe but I LOVE how they tuned out! Iāve been wanting to do a milk jar candle for a while and finally got to make my idea a reality this weekend.
What do you think of these cuties? They are Lucy-Moo approved (our farm dairy cow) š„°
Embracing cozy vibes on a winters day - chasing away the winter blues with the warm glow of luxury.
Can we just talk about wax for a second? There are so many choices of candle wax out there! All have great properties!
Paraffin: itās frequently said to be toxic and terrible but in reality itās a fantastic wax to use for candles. Much like soy, paraffin wax is food-grade. It IS a petroleum by-product however it does not produce any more chemicals than soy wax, and those chemicals are very very minimal. Paraffin wax is natural, non-GMO, itās non-reactive, and it is semi-translucent. Most of the candles you buy from big brand candlemakers in the US are made with either some amount of paraffin or all paraffin.
Soy: OK, Iām going to put this out there right now. There is NO organic soy wax for candles in the US. It is not chemical-free. 94% of soy in the US is genetically modified. There are only a couple wax manufacturers that actually purify their soy wax to remove all pesticides and herbicides. I make sure to only use wax from those suppliers, but I know many people do not because they are more concerned about the bottom line, the cost of producing each candle. Purified soy wax is more expensive. Soy produces soot just as paraffin does but, thanks to your dedicated candle maker (ahem, ME!) I have created the right formulation of wax to oils and wick size to minimize soot so itās almost nonexistent.
Coconut wax: itās a fairly new vegetable wax that is fantastic. It is softer, which means it will burn faster, it does contain paraffin. I have used it and love it, but the cost is extremely high for a small maker like me. And the benefits are no different than soy.
Beeswax: Beeswax is fantastic but are many reasons why it does not make a good candle wax for me. It does not hold a lot of fragrance oil, it burns extremely hot, which is an added danger, and means itās not safe to use in wooden dough bowl candles. Itās extremely expensive compared to soy wax. I have found it to produce more smoke and soot because it does burn so hot.

Iāve been testing out these new jars with a spiral wooden wick. I love everything about these jars: their unique shape, the cork ball lid, & the spiral wick!
Hereās a fun thing Iāve learned with all the testing Iāve done with them: the cork ball absorbs the fragrance, so when the candle is burned out you have a perfect drawer or closet freshener that contains no oil, so wonāt damage your clothing or furniture!
These Mason jar candles deserve another spot on the feed š„°
If Christmas was a scent, this would be it.
Think warm flannel, a cozy fireplace, all things warm and relaxing. Thatās this candle. Cold weather cozy perfection.
Mason jar candles were my first love in the candle world. My entire business was created around them. I still love them, their aesthetic, their reminder of simpler days. Mason jars will forever be a staple of our brand.
