When you’re at the Columbia County Fair this week, go by the Lakeside Athletic concession stand located on the left side. Here are some of the softball players and parents who worked today!! 🐾

Our 2024 Senior Night!! These 4 girls have bright futures ahead of them. This was like no other Senior Night, our original game was canceled due to the storm but we made the best of it and had a great night with a scrimmage, cookout and banquet.

Our team at their double header yesterday! They have missed each other after hurricane Helene hit our town and many of them on the team had damage to their homes, cars and personal items but the girls love for softball never stopped and they were happy to be with each other again after a long week. We are more than a team, we are family 🫶🏻🥎

Primary Position: 3rd Base, Short Stop & Catcher

Favorite Game Memory: “Hitting my first home run over the fence and it was a grand slam. Also beating Evans for the first time in 20 years my freshman year”

Favorite Softball Memory with Teammates: “ Getting hype in the dugout and beating on the buckets. Also the team bonding where we played wiffle ball and watched a movie. “

Advice for future LHS Athletes: “Always go 100%, you never know when your last game will be. Don’t take playing this sport for granted because your senior year will be over before you know it.”

Future Plans: “ Go to Augusta Tech and get my degree to become an Ultrasound Tech”

GAME Day!! Wish our girls good luck as they travel to South Effingham for the start of the regional tournament playing 2 games today!! GOOD LUCK GIRLS!!

Primary Position: Right Field

Favorite Game Memory: “When I got put into pitch against Grovetown with no experience and only threw 1 strike and could not stop laughing”

What will you miss most about Lakeside softball?: “My teammates and their families because at the end of the day we are all one big family and the younger girls that are like my little sisters.”

Advice for future LHS Athletes: “Soak up every moment you can because it fly’s by! Always listen to Coach Chambers even if you don’t understand in the moment, he will end up being one of your biggest role models and support systems”

Future Plans: “ Attend Georgia Southern to pursue Nursing and become a Labor and Delivery Nurse.”

Tonight’s game has been postponed and will now be played on Monday September 30th @ 5:30pm against Greenbrier. Please come to the game and support our girls at our last home game of the season and our senior night!!

Favorite Game Memory: “Diving for a infield fly on first in Brunswick and making the first out”

Advice for future LHS Athletes: “Strive to get better every year, mentally and physically and don’t hold onto little mistakes. Take advantage of your flaws to succeed.”

Future Plans: “ Major in Biology at UGA for my undergrad and my Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine through UGA’S Veternary School.”
