A NEW ALERT SYSTEM WILL SOON BE REPLACING THE EXISTING "CODE RED" EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM IN COLUMBIA COUNTY!!!
Columbia County has contracted with a new Emergency Notification System. It is called "Hyper-Reach" and will be replacing the "Code Red" system that has previously been used. Be aware: Code Red will be phased out in the coming weeks, so if you had previously registered with Code Red and want to continue to receive emergency notifications, you should register your phone(s) at the Hyper-Reach link below.
It will take only one to two minutes to register. You can register whether or not you've previously signed up. It is completely free and Hyper-Reach is extremely customizable! It's your choice whether you want voice or text emergency alerts.
And, you can opt IN or OUT of severe weather alerts! Then, if you do opt in for weather alerts, you can choose the ones you want (and can update those choices anytime!) You can choose any alert combination (including "all" or "none") of:
Severe Thunderstorms
Flash Flooding
Tornadoes
Hurricanes
Furthermore, with this one registration, every phone in the family can be signed up. No need for multiple accounts. And, yes, each individual phone can opt for personalized types and levels of alerts.
Spread the word and let's get Columbia County "In The Know!"

Beautiful day at the Columbia County Prepare and Aware Day at the Evans Town Center Park near the Lady Amphitheater. 9 AM to 3 PM - Come out and visit with us!
Look for ARCCC, Inc. at the gazebo! We’ll have some radio stations set up for demonstrations.
We were grateful to have been invited to Family Night at Augusta Preparatory Day School (APDS). John Bobbitt and Rachel Jones (KO4HLC) set up a table which featured Snap Circuit Kits and answered questions from parents and families on the upcoming Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) contact. Students learned about the flow of electrons in a circuit powering various components, to include a Morse Code oscillator.
You might have seen him in “Supernatural”, “New Girl,” or in the “Revenge of the Nerds” franchise, but WE got to see him in person, when renowned actor Curtis Armstrong stopped by the Harlem Museum and Welcome Center for a surprise visit on April 13th.
Turns out he has been a huge Laurel and Hardy fan since childhood! We really enjoyed talking to him about The Boys. He was so appreciative of our little museum and is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.
