For August, our volunteers served
-481 families compared to 368 in July.
- 1,641 total family members were helped compared to 1,356 in July.
- 194 seniors (over 60) compared to 128 in July
- 663 kids under 18 compared to 603 for July.

I feel like this scripture may be what someone needs to hear tonight. The devil is such a liar that tells us God either doesn’t care, or is too weak to help us. The man who wrote this psalm cried out to God from a very lonely place and I believe these words are as accurate for you as they were for him…

“Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me," even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I wasn't feeling great this weekend and I visited a prompt care I'd never gone to before. Check in was drive through only, and after that was completed, they gave you an exterior door number to go to (all the exterior doors were numbered) and you entered a very small exam room. Your vitals and stated symptoms were entered into a computer, and the computer pretty much dictated to the physician what he could and could not do. It was very different from the model of health care I grew up with.

Things change, I get it. In a few years it will not surprise me to walk in a room and be seen by an AI doctor with that creepy voice like Hal from the movie '2001 Space Odyssey'. "Hello Greg. What seems to be the trouble today?"

Everything is changing, and more and more rapidly. It's so comforting to know that in a world of chaos, that God's mercies are new every morning because of His great faithfulness! He is always there, always faithful, always the same.Call on Him today.

I’m very thankful for my brothers and sisters in Christ at Grace Baptist Church of Evans whose faithful tithes and offerings make it possible for us to purchase food for our community! Financial donations to support the Grace Place Mission Center can be made to our church mission fund. We served a record (for us) 49 families on Tuesday totaling 178 individuals.

If you are receiving a Senior Food Box from the Grace Place for August, they are in and can be picked up during regular hours tomorrow (9-3) or Saturday (12-5)!

We will be open tomorrow 8/6/24 from 9-6 despite the weather - unless we experience a power outage.

How to Help Your Kids See Their Identity In Christ Kids see themselves as "good" or "bad." Show them how Christ sees them.

Also, we have three crib mattresses that are in very good condition if someone needs them!
