Posting so everyone that has reached out in regards to services is aware:

If you have asked to schedule an appointment recently, I am sorry for not getting back to you with availability, please bare with me. My family is processing some very devastating news & I am doing my best to keep my time open to help them where I am needed. This week will be hard for me to schedule any haircuts. I will do my best to reach out with some appointment times available for next week. But please keep my family in your thoughts at this time. Any prayers or positive thoughts are welcomed as we navigate through this situation.

Thank you all for being as understanding as possible in my flakiness latelyā€¦

Hi everyone! Just wanted to quickly update all of my clients on my availability through August, September & some of October.

The boys have both decided to continue with football this year!! šŸˆ & are both on different practice schedules due to being in different age groups. Mondays through Thursdays either one or both boys will have practice at 5pm until 6:30/7pm. Games will be Saturday mornings & mid afternoons.

I will not be cutting hair Monday through Thursday for the time being. Until the football season has concluded for the EJFL, my availability will be as follows:

Friday evenings
Saturday evenings
& Sundays.

I am setting up future appointments, so if you want to secure a time now, please feel free to reach out! šŸ„°

If I have you scheduled for a haircut during conflicting times, I will reach out to you & try to reschedule for a time during the day or evening that fits both of our availability.

If anything changes I will make sure you all know!
Iā€™m sorry for any inconveniences this may cause.
I appreciate each & every one of you! ā¤ļø

Just wanted to quickly post something to make sure my clients know Iā€™m okay. šŸ˜‚
Thank you all for being so patient with me, I have been trying to get back in the groove of things since getting home from Massachusetts & have been working long hours in the office to save on some PTO hours.
I am in the process now of sitting down to look over my availability for this coming week & to set up my office schedule for the month of August, if I have not gotten back to you just yet, please continue to bare with me, I promise I will reach out to all of you & we will get things sorted out & set up for a time that works best for both of us. šŸ˜Š
As always, I appreciate the continued support & cannot wait to see you guys! šŸ©µšŸ¤˜šŸ»

Iā€™m sorry I havenā€™t posted recently. Life has thrown us a lot of curve balls & things have been a little crazy. I wanted to at least share some news on both sides of things both personally & professionally to keep everyone in the loop.

The last time I updated everyone, I was looking for a booth rent / suite style salon to call home & we were searching for answers to Willā€™s visual impairmentā€¦

We were able to get Will back down to Miami in January for his Orbital MRI. We were also referred to a specialist & were able to have him seen in the same week-
The Orbital MRI was not able to show us anything more than what we had been told previously. Everything continued to appear normal, which of course made no sense to us as Will continues to struggle with the pain in & around his eyes & his vision hasnā€™t improvedā€¦this would have devastated us if it werenā€™t for the specialist Will had the privilege of seeingā€¦
Dr. Anat Galor is an ā€œexpert on ocular surface pain and dry eye, a prevalent condition worldwide, and its relationship with neuropathic ocular pain.ā€ She works for Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miamiā€¦as well as with the VA. Her team interviewed us during a phone call while we were still in Florida in December, 3 weeks before our follow up visit with Bascom Palmer, Miami. She & her team made Will a top priority, even finding him a way that he could be assessed by her through the VA, they took the initiative, after we tried, & ultimately failed to get Will approved to see her. They explained that his pain, visual impairment & the images from his MRIs & other tests all aligned with other patients they had seen within similar situations. They told us they likely would not be able to bring his vision back, but they could at least help with his pain & in turn would hopefully be able to slow the nerves behind his eyesā€¦even though the MRI appeared to show no abnormalities, they explained that his nerves were in fact damaged, advising that his nerves are moving/twitching so fast, that they wouldnā€™t appear to have suffered any damageā€¦even though they had. Dr. Galor & her team are leading a trial & a case study on Photophobia caused by a type of neuropathy behind the eyes. In the same visit they were able to start treatments; Will was given 11 injections placed strategically in his forehead & temples & spent 20-30 minutes in a room with a Cefaly device (a TENS unit) that sent electrodes through his forehead. They advised that they wanted Will to join their case study & become one of 27 possible patients to be monitored & treated. With his age, eye pain & lack of visual function, they stated that Will was possibly the most severe case they had seen. They explained that as part of this case study, Will would be asked to participate in a brain scan that would allow them, & us, to see how his brain reacts to light. Wills became their new ā€œPatient 0ā€ & we were asked back on Friday, the following day, to have a scan done by 1 of 5 machines capable of doing this specific scan, in the entire world. Dr. Galor conducts & teaches conferences to eye doctors on this topic & she & her team had just been interviewed on their studies a few weeks prior to his visit. She is the only doctor within the VA that even treats this type of visual pathway disorder. Her team pointed out things that no one else had even touched on.
They quite literally blew us away.
Wills brain scan came back almost completely quite, not even showing reactions to his movements, so we will need to have another scan done to decide if this is symptomatic to his condition or if by chance the helmet was not working properly/connected properly. Will was diagnosed legally blind in both eyes by definition in the US. This news rocked us. - With the uncertainty of his vision ever improving, Will asked to be initiated into a Medical Evaluation Board with the militaryā€¦this was not a decision he made lightly & it broke his heart knowing his dream of serving his country & retiring with the military after many years in & at a much older age, would be coming to an end.
In sounding like a broken recordā€¦no one will ever fully understand just how much this injury has taken from himā€¦& my heart hurts for him. He will likely never have his vision back. He not only lost his vision, he lost his military career & his civilian job as a Milwright, he lost the ability to drive, work on his cars & other projects, he cannot see movies or videos, he cannot read text in books or on phone/computer screens, he has lost his ability to see the art work that our boys bring home & the smiles on their faces when theyā€™re telling him about their dayā€¦amongst so many other things we all tend to take for granted.
We are currently trying to keep our spirits up & have been busy looking into every option he may haveā€¦we are hoping for some sort of ā€œnormalcyā€ soon, but until then, we keep pushing on.

The kidsā€™ well being & Wills health continues to be at the top on the list of my priorities. This has not been an easy situation to navigate through & will continue to take up a lot of my free time.

With knowing that this injury has left Will unable to work, I needed to find something that was not only full-time, but was flexible as well. Which leads me to my career in hair. - I have always & will always have a passion for hairstyling. I donā€™t know that, that will ever changeā€¦Will & I spent hours, even days, discussing the options around me continuing to do hair full-time. We crunched numbers & figured budgets, we discussed every possible avenue I could have takenā€¦everything we discussed came to the same conclusionā€¦
While I loved doing hair full-time, I could not subject myself to the negatives that come with being in another ā€œcorporate-likeā€ shop atmosphereā€¦we also could not afford for me to take a risk on working for myself, which comes with a large overhead & with only my ability to produce an income, stability in pay was not something that could be compromisedā€¦
Since my separation from Sport Clips back at the end of September, I kept an open mind on different opportunities & career changes. I applied for different positions, some involving the cosmetology industry, others not. I was offered a couple of different positions, but turned them down ultimately because of timing, or the hourly demandsā€¦it seemed like a never ending battle that I was losing everydayā€¦I felt like I was being forced to choose between my dreams & my familyā€¦but, as you know, they say that all things come to those who wait. & I believe that whole heartedly.
I was offered & accepted a full time position with OneMain Financial in their Account Resolution Center as a collections agent with the ability to work a hybrid schedule (in office & from home). I get to make my own schedule monthly with the stipulation that I work one evening shift (4-8) per week & one Saturday shift (a minimum of 4 hours between 7am & 12pm) per month at a minimum of 40hrs per week. Without going into full detail, I will say that I am unbelievably happy with the opportunity I was offered & decided to take.

With that said-
I am cutting hair on the side, & once I figure out a good rhythm, I will have myself on more of a set schedule. In the meantime, I ask that if you would like to set something up, please reach out either by text or through direct message on Facebook to discuss available time slotsā€¦& please keep an open mind & bare with me as I continue to navigate through life right now.
My clients have always been a huge reason for my continued passion & I will try to do my best to work with of you to schedule something that works with your availability or I will recommend someone I trust, that will not only satisfy your haircare wants & needs, but will be more readily available to you.

Thank you to everyone that has reached out &/or has continued to support me over the last 6 months. You guys are truly the best & I couldnā€™t be more grateful for my clients that have turned into friends over the past few years. ā¤ļø

Hey folks! Iā€™ve decided to start a professional page to keep up with everything. I know itā€™s been a while since Iā€™ve posted about whatā€™s been happening with my family, myself, & my career, so I figured Iā€™d give a brief updateā€¦

We are still searching for answers about my husbandā€™s vision impairment & have been given the opportunity to be seen by the top ophthalmologists in the country! Willā€™s amazing Auntie flew us down to florida to be seen by some great doctors at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, unfortunately they were unable to find any answers for us in our first visit, but have taken on his case to help us in our pursuit of getting to the bottom of this injury. We will be returning to Miami in January to do a series of more extensive testing. We are hoping that with these upcoming visits weā€™ll not only know why his vision isnā€™t getting better, but how to fix it as well! Please keep positive vibes & thoughts sent his way!

Since Wills vision & health is such a priority, I am needing to either get into a Salon Suite or start booth renting to accommodate the traveling we may have to do. Hopefully after the start of the new year I can get the ball rolling on that. I hate that itā€™s taking as long as it is for me to get settled with everything, but I am looking forward to getting back into a salon/shop setting! When I do get things up & going, I will post a list of different services I will provide & pricing on this page. If you need anything in the meantime, please feel free to reach out!

Our family is looking forward to the start of a new year after the rough one weā€™ve had. We are hopeful to find the answers weā€™ve been looking for & to get back up & moving in a positive direction!

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or comments.

I appreciate all of the support my family has been given throughout this year! ā¤ļø We hope you all have happy holidays & a safe New Years!
