“Claire Kortens is a physical therapist assistant at Core Physical Therapy.

Claire grew up in Kimberly, WI. She received her bachelor's degree in Exercise & Sports Science from UW-La Crosse in 2021, and her PTA degree from Western Technical College in La Crosse in 2024. She is currenly living in Madison, WI.

Claire is passionate about helping people feel their best and return to doing things they love most. She looks forward to exploring continuing education opportunities in many areas, including aquatic therapy.

In her free time, Claire loves to play volleyball, try new restaurants, and spend time outdoors. She is also busy planning her upcoming wedding!”

This Mother’s Day we would like to express our love and condolences toward Blase Strobl and his sister, Secret, for their mom, Pat - the original mother of Core PT. For those who had the pleasure of knowing her and keeping her in their hearts, she was known for being a fearless, supportive, “force to be reckoned with”. For those who were not fortunate enough to meet her before her passing, she is remembered daily through fond memories, photos, and traditions that stick through the test of time, as if she still presides over everything by looking over us.

Pat’s values are certainly reflected in the work we get to do with our patients every day ❤️

We appreciate the opportunity to work as a family under the guidance of these values and look forward to our growth as a team. We are excited to spend many Mother’s Days together in the years to come ❤️

Katie Andersen is a Physical Therapist Assistant at Core Physical Therapy.
Katie grew up in Marion, Iowa.

She attended the University of Northern Iowa where she received her Bachelor’s
degree and certification in Athletic Training. She then went on to complete her PTA
degree from Kirkwood Community College in 2023.

Katie is excited to join the Core Physical Therapy team and work with a wide variety
of patients. She enjoys getting to know each patient and helping them achieve their
goals.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her friends and family, a variety of
outdoor activities, and exploring Wisconsin.

Think surgery is the only option?

While there are certainly situations where surgery is necessary, it’s important to explore all of your options.

“Studies have shown that physical therapy is just as good if not better than surgery for a multitude of conditions and carries less risk. Some examples would include rotator cuff tears, meniscal tears, spinal stenosis, low back pain, and osteoarthritis.” (ppsapta.org)

Even when surgery is unavoidable, physical therapy before surgery can help speed along the healing process and give you more strength. Physical therapy after surgery is typically recommended to help retrain the muscles to the newly repaired area and to further strengthen the muscles.

Our physical therapists here at Core Physical Therapy can help guide you through the entire process. We will work closely with you and your doctor to help determine the best course of action for YOU.

Jackson Williams is an office assistant at Core Physical Therapy.

Jackson’s hometown is in Evansville. He is currently taking his sophomore year of high school at Evansville High School.

Jackson likes working with and being around others. He is always ready for his next task and also likes to think of others before himself. He is starting a front office training course to start helping people by scheduling appointments and managing them.

When Jackson is not working he likes to spend his time being with his family and friends. He also really enjoys bowling, golfing, and fishing.

✨Welcome to our newest PT Gabby!✨

Gabby Thomas is a physical therapist at Core Physical Therapy.

Gabby grew up in rural Minnesota. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin - Steven’s Point. She then went to the College of St. Scholastica to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree, and graduated in May 2022.

Gabby enjoys working with people of all walks of life and is eager to help them get back to what they enjoy doing. She looks forward to learning more and advancing her clinical skills by finishing her dry needling certification and pursuing other continuing education opportunities.

When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and two cats, working out, playing volleyball, and being outdoors.
