Pumpkin Spice Qigong
Stole this idea from #nutritiousmovement :) In qigong, we often use imagination to generate tension as though we were actually bearing weight and adjusting our center of gravity appropriately. This is remarkably effective - but what if we first got the feel of our imaginary 'qi ball' with a seasonally-appropriate object..? Also, noticing the nuances in balance shifts and joint mobilizations with varying sizes and shapes of produce... Try it! Lemme know how it goes... A quickie head/neck tension releaser and waker-upper! (Known as "Knock & beat the jade pillow") 1) Place your cupped palms over your ears, making sure to lift your pinkies and ring fingers slightly off your head; 2) "Snap" your index fingers off your middle fingers to create a 'thump' along the base of your skull, where the tiny muscles of the neck attach; 3) Move along the base of skull from outer edge towards center and back, about 36 times. Remember to breathe! The percussion will reverberate inside your head, helping to relieve tension, mental fog, and sluggishness! #qigong #jadepillow #selfcare #headtension
