We just received our doses of Pfizer baby covid vaccine for ages 6 months - 4 years. We do have Moderna coming as well. If you have received prior covid vaccines, you MUST stay with the brand that you started with. For ages 5+, the brands are interchangeable. We also recommend if starting with the covid vaccine for 6 months - 4 years that you start with Moderna as it is only a 2 dose series versus a 3 dose series with Pfizer.

So if your child between 6 months - 4 years has received a Pfizer vaccine prior to this year, please call to book your appointment NOW!!

Here is some information from the CDC about ways to protect your infant from RSV. We have already had a few cases in the office. If you are pregnant, talk to your OB about receiving the Abrysvo vaccine.

We will be carrying Beyfortus ( RSV antibody injection) in the office, and we will start to administer it in early October based on the guidelines from the CDC. This vaccine is only approved for those infants under 8 months. Please call or post below with any questions. We will post on Facebook when appointments can be booked!

New flu shots scheduled in office: Thursday 9/26 from 6 PM - 7 PM!

Good afternoon! Just a few updates:

1) Our new e-mail is [email protected]. Please use this e-mail to send forms. Please do not send us pictures or ask for medical advice at this e-mail.

2) We have plenty of flu clinics; there are appointments available through the beginning of November. Many of these are drive-thru and include days that the children are off from school.

3) We will shortly be receiving covid vaccine in the office. We are currently booking vaccine for age 5 and up at this time. We will be using the Pfizer vaccine. We will be booking 6 months - 5 year old covid vaccines once we receive them in the office. We will be offering both Pfizer and Moderna to this age group as the vaccines are not interchangeable.

4) We anticipate the Beyfortus (RSV vaccine) for those babies under 8 months to arrive at the beginning of October. We will post on Facebook when it arrives.

Good morning! Just a couple of updates for the office!

1) The office will be open this weekend on Sunday, September 1st for sick visits.

2) We are currently booking for flu shots on Wednesday afternoons and anticipate adding more dates. 9/4 & 9/11 are up in the office and 9/18 & 9/25 will be in the car. We are also giving flu vaccines at well visits.

3) We will start booking mid October for Beyfortus ( RSV antibodies) for those babies under 8 months. If mom got an RSV vaccine during pregnancy and it was at least 2 weeks prior to delivery, the baby is not eligible for Beyfortus. We have a list of babies eligible and can most certainly answer more questions as we get closer to October, but we will be administering it in the office. We can also administer at well visits.

4) We will be getting covid shots, likely within the next month, for those who request it. We will set up clinics, and we can administer at well visits.

5) The calendar is open through November 1st to book physicals.

6) And most importantly, enjoy the last few days of SUMMER!!!

We have a new addition to our staff! Meet our new pediatric nurse practitioner, Nicole Hernandez. She will begin seeing patients in our office on Monday.

Nicole was born and raised in North Jersey, and she graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. After completing Seton Hall University’s Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree. Nicole is board-certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board in primary care and has 10 years of pediatric nursing experience.

Nicole is fluent in Polish. She is a HUGE Disney and Harry Potter fan. A wife and cat mom, she loves arts and crafts, traveling, and rooting for the NY Giants and Mets.

Please welcome her if you see her in the hallways or for a visit with your child. We are so excited to welcome her to Advocare Maple Avenue Pediatrics!

Just a couple of updates:

1) We will be administering Beyfortus (RSV antibodies) to babies under 8 months born during or entering their first RSV season whose pregnant parent did not receive an RSV vaccine or who were born less than 14 days after the pregnant parent's RSV vaccination. We anticipate being able to administer Beyfortus starting by October 1st. We can administer at an office visit but we also intend to set up certain days where a nurse will be administering Beyfortus to groups of babies. 2) Back by popular demand - we are hoping to be able to bring back drive-thru flu clinics. We just ask that you make sure that your insurance information is up-to-date in our office prior to your appointment. We know that these were a favorite, and now that most patients have insurance on-file this should be MUCH easier this year. We will post here when appointments are available.

3) Please schedule your physicals. We have appointments open through October 4th and our first appointments available are in September.
