A few of our Day 1 patrol officers swung by to celebrate Carsonβs 4th birthday with a cool, refreshing glass of freshly made lemonade - and we have to say, it was a pretty sweet way to beat the heat!
Carson and friends sat in a patrol car, met K9 Ruckus and got some nifty FPD stickers (who says βniftyβ anymore? We do! π).
Happy birthday, Carson! ππ₯³
As you grow older, may you always, always make lemonade from π lemons. Thanks for letting us take part in your special day!
Puppies in need of loving homes!
Pet Supplies Plus
The Vacaville location of Pet Supplies Plus (2070 Harbison Drive) will donate all proceeds from dog washes that are purchased from Friday, August 2nd at 9 a.m. through Sunday, August 4 at 8 p.m. One dog wash costs $14.
Yesterday, the Vacaville Police Department tragically lost Officer Matthew Bowen in a line of duty death. Police Officers leave their home and families to safeguard our communities not knowing if they will return at the end of their shift. Officer Bowen was struck by a drug impaired driver yesterday and did not get to return home to his loving wife and two young sons. Please see the PORAC Fund a Hero link and consider contributing to the family as they navigate this extremely challenging time.
A hero is never forgotten. Officer Bowen, you will not be forgotten and we thank you for your dedication to bravely serving others. May you rest in eternal peace with God and the angels.
Vacaville Officer Matt Bowen - Peace Officers Research Association of California Officer Matthew Bowen passed away after a fatal collision during his tour of duty. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

On Memorial Day, we honor and remember all United States military personnel who died while serving our country in the Armed Forces. Over 1.3 million Americans have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. In 1868, Major General John Logan established "Decoration Day" as a way to pay tribute to those who soldiers who died in the Civil War by placing flowers on their graves. Major General Logan chose May 30th as "Decoration Day" because it is believed that he recognized that flowers would be in bloom nationwide. The special day was later renamed to Memorial Day and is still celebrated on the last Monday in May. Although the first city to celebrate Memorial Day remains unclear, the first large-scale celebration was held at Arlington National Cemetery for a crowd of approximately 5,000 people.
In 1971, Congress declared Memorial Day to be a national holiday. In December 2000, Congress passed and the President signed into law The National Moment of Remembrance Act to ensure those military members who lost their lives in service to our country were never forgotten.
How to observe Memorial Day: At 3:00 p.m. local time, Americans are asked to take part in the National Moment of Remembrance, a time to pause in a moment of silence to honor those who have died serving the United States.
Friends of Fairfield Police K9s remembers those military personnel who paid the ultimate price to secure our freedoms. We honor them and their families and we remain grateful for their bravery and sacrifice. They will never be forgotten.
Join us on Sunday, June 30, 2024 for PAINTING PAWTNERS to support our Fairfield, CA Police Department K9 Heroes! Space is limited, so be sure to register early! We look forward to seeing you there!
NATIONAL POLICE WEEK IS CELEBRATED MAY 12-18, 2024:
HISTORY
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. Currently, tens of thousands of law enforcement officers from around the world converge on Washington, DC to participate in a number of planned events which honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
The Memorial Service began in 1982 as a gathering in Senate Park of approximately 120 survivors and supporters of law enforcement. Decades later, the event, more commonly known as National Police Week, has grown to a series of events which attracts thousands of survivors and law enforcement officers to our Nation's Capital each year.
The National Peace Officers Memorial Service, which is sponsored by the Grand Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police, is one in a series of events which includes the Candlelight Vigil, which is sponsored by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) and seminars sponsored by Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.)
National Police Week draws in between 25,000 to 40,000 attendees. The attendees come from departments throughout the United States as well as from agencies throughout the world. This provides a unique opportunity to meet others who work in law enforcement. In that spirit, the Fraternal Order of Police DC Lodge #1 sponsors receptions each afternoon and evening during Police Week. These events are open to all law enforcement personnel and are an experience unlike any other.
Friends of Fairfield Police K9s honors and remembers all of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our communities. We especially remember Fairfield, CA Police Department's Sgt. Arthur K. Koch who was killed in the line of duty on July 29, 1984.
