Big shoutout and huge congrats to everyone who competed today at !
The performances were absolutely amazing across the board, and the improvements in everyone game was clear.
With none of our kids competitors in this event the adults had to make up a huge Team points deficit, and the team was still able to fight all the way back to a 3rd place podium spot!
Phenomenal job!

Dave’s last day in the gi today before he moves to Maryland. Dave and his son Daniel have been great friends and training partners to everyone at Fargo BJJ for quite some time now and they will be greatly missed. Also our friend Carlos visited us today! Thanks for stopping in Carlos, was great to see you.

It was such an honor for me to spend the afternoon with the Bismarck BJJ crew and present with his Blackbelt.
Prof. Tim and his whole family were some of my very first students back when I've first opened in 2008.
They weren't just students, but very good friends of my family and myself ever since.
I'm thankful that in all his travels he's always made it back to connect with us and stick with Jiu-jitsu!
Prof. Tim has spent his entire life in the service of others, helping people improve their health and better their lives... on the mat, as in life... I can't think of a person more deserving of being recognized as "blackbelt" ⬛️🟥🟥🟥⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️

Adam Wardziński was the ONLY Non- Brazilian to win an Adult black belt world champion division this weekend.
In fact, 30 of the 32 mens semi finalists and 15 of the 16 women semi finalist were Brazilians... and only Adam made it to top!
He is also the 1st person from Poland to take home the title.

Memorial Day is a day in which we honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
Tho there is nothing 'Happy' about it, that doesn't mean it can't be a fun and safe time spent with those we love.
As a Vet, I've personally always advocated to honor those who've come before by living your best life and being the best YOU you can be.
Go out and achieve great things and have glorious victories in your life, and you can be sure the fallen will be happy and proud of you!

Huge congratz to Prof. Aaron for earning the Blackbelt today. Aaron is one of the hardest working guys in the gym but still makes himself available to all students, literally anytime of day or night. He teaches his classes, runs trainings, will meet students off times to help them, review film with students... comes in early and stays late... and is happy to do so!
One of my favorite things to have students ask themselves is "If everyone in the gym acted like me, what kind of gym would we have?"
Well, in Prof. Aaron's case, we'd have a Damn Fine gym!!!

Ranked Rashguards are finally re-stocked!!!

You may not know, but BJJ has a completely separate ranking system for kids than adults. Kids can't switch over to the adult rank system until 16, and unlike other martial arts, there are no Blackbelts given below 19!
It's a big deal when someone transitions from the kids program to the adults program... often going from the biggest and strongest, back to the bottom and being the smallest again. It's a tough transition, especially for a kid, but it offers some if the best lessons Jiu-jitsu has to offer!
