Back in 2012 my world was shattered into a million pieces. I had so many questions that were unanswered and swept under a rug.
One of the most important questions is how could I physically witness a resident being abused….. yes, happening in front of my eyes?
It felt like the sharpest knife piercing my heart until it was strong enough to drag through my lungs, because in that moment my breath left my entire body. As the resident called out to me… I felt helpless😢. I followed all protocols, and the STATE did nothing!
Lord Father God knows, that it is my purpose, mission, and life goal is to make sure I do my part in making sure this never happens again! I will fight for residents right, and caregivers whom sees and witness abuse and neglect daily, but are scared to report it!!
They’ve talked about nursing home abuse and neglect for years and that’s all it has been.
Well, let’s stop talking and start doing!
