Twofold Blooms
We save flowers from the trash and turn them into beautiful arrangements for seniors in memory care.
A very special delivery from yesterday! 🧡🧡🧡
**UPDATE: This is the cleanest this floor has been in a decades! Feels good to be making progress. This is the loft inside the Flower Cottage where vases etc will be stored! It’s in amazing shape! Just needed a bit of elbow grease! More updates coming soon!
I don’t always get to deliver directly to residents so I LOVE getting tagged! 💜
This story is why I created this charity:
I got a MASSIVE donation of roses on Saturday (reel to follow soon) and was only able to work through a few of them yesterday. One of my volunteers dropped off flowers at 2 buildings on her way home.
Fast forward to me realizing there isn’t enough time for me to work with all of them so I decided to start donating whole boxes of roses, then there would be extra for the staff. So I went back to one of the buildings the volunteer dropped off at and there were no roses to be found. The staff had switched over by then and the night staff had not seen any roses.
Now, I will give the day crew the benefit of the doubt and perhaps instead of putting them on the dining tables (which is our arrangement) they put them in other parts of the building that weren’t obvious. So when I dropped off a box of roses for the staff…….I was really bummed.
Not sure if maybe the volunteer hadn’t made it to that building, I then went to the other building to double check.
When I arrived the roses were all over the lobby. The memory care unit is way in the back. I went to the very nice person at the desk, explained what happened and he helped me to load the arrangements onto a cart and let me into the memory care unit where there was 1 of the arrangements of roses on the nurses’ cart.
No shade to nurses, they have difficult jobs that I could not personally do, but this made me very sad.
I understand that once I drop off the flowers I have no control over what the staff does with them but I would hope that the residents get them first.
This is EXACTLY why I do this charity. Memory care residents get the fewest visitors of anyone and I get it! Its difficult to see your loved one that way.
The vibe of yesterday’s events gave off is one of ‘they won’t know the difference’ and that broke my heart a bit.
I have not had an issue with either of these buildings before so I am just going to chock this up to a one-off scenario but I will be chatting with my contacts in the offices.
Yes, the residents would not know the difference but thats exactly why I do this. When those flowers are dropped on their dining tables their faces light up and they smile at me and say thank you. They don’t know me or why I’m bringing them flowers but they are so very grateful for them because they still understand the significance.
Someone thought enough about them to bring them flowers. Its really just that simple. Then they continue to smile every time they see them. 🥹💜
Soo grateful for today’s deliveries and Sher Simon’s amazing assistance! 💜

Thanks to the Gardens of Castle Rock I was able to take these plants and bouquet to seniors at the Beehive and a new facility in Eagan! They also donated vases, one of which I used for these lovely roses. 🥰
So thankful for Blommonster today! These boxes of flowers from yesterday's wedding got turned into 32 arrangements for seniors in 3 different buildings. These flowers had such amazing colors, they were a joy to work with. 😊
