Throwback Thursday!
Celebrating 10 Years of Massage Therapy
With school back in full swing, this week I’m taking a look back at the end of my school experience from Blue Cliff College. Classes ended mid-summer (that’s why my diploma has July on it) but graduation was done in October. I especially love this 2nd photo of me with my inspiration for massage therapy, my momma.

This answer is one of my most solemn hopes for massage education in the future- that we educate the roles that each professional association plays and how to get involved with each one! More civic participation (volunteering) should be emphasized in massage therapy training!

Celebrating 10 Years of Massage Therapy
As school starts back, I’m gonna share a look back to the spring/summer of 2021 where I was taking and writing CE courses what felt like day and night!
You can see the research and writing process that goes into each class. Later on, as more courses got approved, my husband gifted me a certificate embossed and a customized Cross Pen(the brand of pens favored by most modern us Presidents) to sign certificates of completion with!
Since that summer of getting courses approved by Arkansas Department of Health, I’ve also become an Approved Provider with National Certification Board For Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) . And later this month I’ll be teaching for the first time outside of my home state of Arkansas!

Celebrating 10 Years of Massage
Last August, I attended my first AMTA National Convention in Phoenix, Arizona! I got to reconnect with out of state colleagues and friends that I had made earlier that summer in Rosemont Illinois for AMTA’s VLC (Volunteer Leadership Conference). And of course, our Arkansas group had to rep the Razorbacks with hog noses at the Opening Reception!
