In addition to the free ideas on my blog, I also offer custom sewing, upholstery, home decor items, children's clothing and toys, clothing alterations, costumes and other specialty items.
70ish year old child’s rocker restored, reupholstered, and ready for delivery. Working on vintage/antique furniture is a lot like opening up a time capsule. It’s fascinating to see how furniture design, construction, and materials have changed over time.
Swipe for the before.
More antiques on the table this week. This little chair frame was wobbly like a weeble when it arrived. We stripped it down and re-glued all the joints before the upholstery. No nails or screws in this one!
See my stories for more process pics.
Good morning! We will be closed this week, January 30-February 5th while Heather is doing her local civic duty as a juror. We appreciate your patience while we are closed. If you have an appointment scheduled for February, please check your email about delivery and pick up for your items the following week.
Thank you and have a great week!
Working on family heirlooms is a little like being a link in the chain of history. These 2 chairs got a beautiful new finish by and brand new upholstery from the frame up. Which style is your favorite?
Last piece of furniture finished and delivered. And what a statement piece it is!
Before and after in my stories.
And with that, the shop has been swept, tidied(ish😉), tools oiled and put away, and closed up for the year. I’m so grateful for your business, referrals, return business, and the choice each of you has made to trust us with your furniture. I’m looking forward to 2023 and all the furniture it will bring.😁
Here’s to the holidays!🥂
Before and after of a vintage settee. Redesign on the back and a rebuild from the frame up. Gorgeous fabric compliments this piece (even if it was the devil to get a good picture of 😉)
Before and after of a gorgeous 1920’s sofa redone in collaboration with and
Now available to purchase at Junk Mama’s General Store in Fayetteville. Stop by their annual open house this Friday and Saturday 11/18-11/19 to see it in person and start your holiday season by shopping small and local.
A lovely pair of accent chairs using both sides of this fun navy print.
Pillows!
What a week! This post was meant for Monday but….TGIF! I am so thankful to have clients who trust us to realize their creative vision with their loved furniture. This is one of my favorite before and after transformations this year.
I believe that furniture is an investment. Trends come and go, certainly. But what if we looked beyond the fabric, beyond the style on the outside, beyond its current color palette? There’s value hidden inside this sofa in the form of a solid frame and quality craftsmanship. That’s worth keeping.
And re-investing in. ➡️ for the after.
Updated look for this incredibly comfy armchair. Swipe for the before.
Super excited to be working on this beautiful 1920’s sofa makeover with This is just the beginning…..
Good morning!
Just a quick appreciation post to thank everyone who has supported my small business whether it's in the form of a recommendation, a shout out on social media, or using our services. The last few years have been tough on many small businesses and we wouldn't still be here without all of you. So from the bottom of my heart, I humbly thank you.
With that said, we are now completely booked until January 2023, and will not be booking new appointments at this time. We have some fun things planned with some other local businesses as we head into fall and the holiday season, so keep an eye out for those upcoming collaborations we're pretty excited about them.
Thank you again and have a great week!

If you’ve been following my story this week, you’ve seen snippets of these chairs as I’ve been working on them. They’re finished and available to be snuggled into with your favorite beverage while you’re hanging out downtown
Gorgeous vintage sofa in a subtle gold fabric that highlights the lines of this unique statement piece.
Who’s ready to put your feet up for the weekend?? ✋
Before and after of an adorable skirted vanity chair in a mid weight linen with a beautiful drape. We removed the bow while keeping the ruching detail on the sides and removed some of the volume on the skirt for an updated look. If you have furniture that fits your space, consider reupholstering before discarding, there are many possibilities to update your existing pieces while still keeping your favorite chair.
Before and after of a very unique set of dining chairs originally made in Denmark.
Good morning!
The shop will be closed July 4th-11th for a small break. We’ll be mostly offline during that time and will return any emails when we get back. As always, we truly appreciate your support and value your business.
Hope everyone has a Happy Independence Day!
Heather Cap and the No Business Like Sew Business team.
These 2 side chairs are companions to the sofa in my previous post. I love the color combination of this fabric and paint treatment on the chair frames. Swipe for a closer look.
