UPDATE: GREAT NEWS - One of our previous adoptors that has one of our seniors will be taking him, we will pick him up tomorrow morning and she will pick him up Wednesday! We love our community!

We need your help, we are pulling Scooby from the shelter tomorrow. His family left him at the house when they moved and now he's at the shelter. He is 12yrs old and was INFESTED with fleas, poor old man is not in great shape but we will try to give him the best end of life care as we are unsure how much time this guy has left.

Due to personal reasons, Tiny is being returned to us this week. The adopters are unable to keep him. As always we do what is in the best interest of the dogs in our rescue and he will be returned to his previous foster until we can find him the perfect home.

Our longest resident, Maggie has been returned to us 3 times. We are hoping to find her a great home that will fit her shy personality. Maggie is not good with small kids as she is not aggressive at all, she is just terrified of loud noises and kids running around and yelling. It takes her time to warm up.

Maggie is a 2yr old Female Great Dane. Spayed, UTD Vacccines, Good with dogs, cats, and children over 8. She has basic obedience, house manners, and crate trained. Although having extensive confidence-building training, Adopter MUST have a fenced-in back yard, due to her fearful nature she is a flight risk.

Every day we are contacted about owner surrenders and shelters needing placement and help.

Currently we have 4 Danes in our rescue and one is Heartworm Positive and requires continued treatment.

We've not received a financial donation in over 2 months. Please help us or we will be forced to close our doors. Food and medical costs rack up every day and every $1 makes a difference.

Luna is a sweet great dane estimated to be 2 years old, we decided September is her birth month. Hildie is a Belgian German Shepard mix. She will be 2 in May. Both are up to date on shots and have been fixed. Luna also had her stomach tacked as well. My living situation has changed, and I had to move into an apartment. With my son leaving soon, they will be home alone for 12hrs a day. They need a yard to run in, but also be indoor dogs. They are both sweet. I have 5-year-old twins that they play with. I'm not sure how they would be around cats. My twins are allergic as well. I would love for them to be adopted together due to anxiety if separated. They eat ocean whitefish or large breed (I mix them) Wellness dry dog food.

If you don't like the fact that we do reference checks, thats fine we don't GAF. Carry on. ONCE and ONE time only have we had a adopter miserably fail one of our dogs.. NEVER AGAIN. So yes, we are strict because dogs deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. If you plan to treat them horribly and as a lawn ornament, we are NOT the rescue for you. If you are upset that it takes us a week to do your reference checks.. then I don't know what to tell you. Most of our dogs are coming from bad situations and we will not let them land in another one.
