I was thinking about this earlier. I'm not young. I don't feel old though. Somewhere in between. I've earned my grey hair, my wrinkles, my scars. I've experienced a life, births deaths, loves, losses, tragedy and triumph. So often there is an energy in getting caught up in trying to defy the aging process, to sell that narrative the beauty is only a gift for the young. Truth be told, it's just a sales pitch. Beauty is in the soul, in the energy. Aging gracefully is a narrative that should be pushed. Embrace you who you are. Celebrate yourself and every wrinkle, and grey hair you've earned. Every scar tells a story. We are mortal here, and rust in time, and go back to the stardust we came from. We are no better than anything else. Be authentically you. My experience is that our growth and healing both have no set appearance or timeframe..

it's true that on some level, we have to feel safe in order to move forward from where we're at,

but a lot of people don't realize that safety isn't the lack of triggers or disagreements or misunderstandings etc.

It's the ability to sit through all of those things while doing things that support our process of navigating/overcoming those things.

Understanding ourselves and our triggers and what makes us feel unsafe is the key to being able to create that sense of safety when we feel like it's missing,

being able to ground ourselves and help ourselves feel safe again when we FEEL unsafe despite BEING SAFE.

That's where the big growth and healing happen.
