Troop 559 explored the wonders of the NASA Space Center in Houston, accompanied by other Girl Scout troops from around the country. They were immersed in an environment that fostered learning and growth, as they deepened their understanding of space exploration and the latest technological advancements. The girls engaged in interactive activities, including rocket construction and coding exercises. The trip was made possible by the kind support of those who purchased cookies from the troop. The experience was a testament to the empowering impact of educational adventures and the pursuit of knowledge!
GS will be there… will you??

We hope you all will join us and donate to the Boys in Blue and help provide school supplies!!
Its that time again and while summer has just begun, the new 2024-2025 school year is around the corner. Many families will find themselves shopping for school supplies, and while it can be a financial burden for most, we are asking for your help with either a monetary donation or dropping off any new unused essentials listed below to the Floresville Police Department for the
“2nd Annual Back to School with the Boys in Blue School Supply program”
Last school year, we assisted over 200 children with backpacks full of essentials such as map color pencils, crayons, markers, highlighters #2 pencils, pens, erasers, scissors, composition notebooks, paper, red, blue, or green folders, glue sticks, tissue boxes, and pencil pouches. It was a great blessing to provide for what we did because of the amount of donations we received from the community.
We’re looking forward to helping families throughout the upcoming years but to provide for more children we need your support.
If you wish to donate please email our Police Clerk Shivon at [email protected] or reach the department at 830.393.4055.
If your child is a student for Floresville ISD and is in need of school supplies for the upcoming school year, pickup for a backpack with the essentials will be July 29th - August 1st from 9:00 a.m.- 4: 00 p.m. at The Floresville Police Department at 920 C Street. No appointment or sign up is needed as it will be first come first serve until we run out.
The greatest thing about Girl Scouts is the relationships which are built! Not just within the troop but within Girl Scouts as a whole; from troop, community, council, and worldwide.
Girl Scouts and volunteers are part of a sisterhood like no other. It’s meant to have everyone have a safe space to feel included and share in triumphs.
Girl Scouts is more than the vest, badges and fun patches, it’s life long lessons. Best said by Dolores Huerta “We must use our lives to make the world a better place to live, not to just acquire things. That is what we are put on this earth for.”
