Greetings!

Do you know someone who deserves the recognition of their peers in the field of addiction? Do you know someone who has influenced you and made significant contributions through research, advocacy, and programming for our consumers?

The Board of Directors of the Illinois Association of Addiction Professionals extends an invitation to you to nominate a professional expert who has done exemplary work in the field of addictions. Each year through our Recovery Month Awards Celebration, we honor individuals whose contributions to research, training, advocacy, recovery management, and program development have influenced our profession.

The nominees are selected through the decision of the IAAP awards committee and board of directors. If you know someone who has influenced you and deserves peer recognition? Just click the link below and submit their name along with why you believe your nominee should be recognized!

This year's theme is "Recovery is For Everyone: Every Person, Every Family, Every Community!" Awards will be presented on September 20, 2022, at our annual Recovery Month Awards Celebration!

Fiscal Year 2021 Substance Abuse Disorder and (STAR) Loan Repayment Program (LRP) Full-Time Service Opportunities

The Treatment and Recovery (STAR) Loan Repayment Program (LRP) will pay up to $250,000 to awardees in exchange for six years of full-time employment that involves direct treatment or recovery support of patients with or in recovery from a substance use disorder. Awardees will receive a lump sum payment totaling the principal of and interest on each eligible loan outstanding on the date the individual began service, up to $250,000.

The Interdisciplinary Minority Fellowship Program (IMFP) is a newly awarded, grant funded program from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The purpose of the fellowship is to identify, select, and support the training of ethnic minority graduate students who commit to significantly improving the quality of care provided to ethnic and racial minorities who have a mental or cooccurring mental and substance use disorder. The fellowship is directly related to efforts to reduce health disparities among ethnic minorities in the U.S. by filling a crucial need for mental health professionals in psychology, nursing, social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, and substance use and addictions counseling.
