Meeting, greeting, sharing and learning about OCOK’s transition into Denton county today!

In May 2024, OCOK is expanding to Denton County! What does this mean for Malik's Closet ? It means access to more caseworkers and families who might need our Closet! I’ve been collaborating with the Resource Manager at OCOK and am so excited to see what this next year holds.

But also, I am expanding the resources that we offer to the foster and adoptive community…. Going beyond “stuff” that we know is vital, and providing some resource training and guidance on how to support, connect and strengthen foster families and their children. I’m so excited to expand what we have to offer! Follow and share with me here in 2024!

From 75 square feet… to 200! Our move in is complete and the new space is amazing! Thanks again to Hashem Orthodontics Flower Mound for their fundraiser that helped make this possible! We are secure in a beautiful BIG space and ready to continue serving foster families through 2024!

It’s today. It’s also Malik’s Fourth birthday today. ❤️

I would give anything to hug him and celebrate with him, but alas, we can’t. I hope he safe and feeling so very loved on his special day.

Over here, we control honor his presence in our family through Malik’s Closet, now an entire year of love, prayer, donated goods and financial donations to help local foster families and the precious kids they welcome selflessly into their home.

Malik will forever by my “Champion”! This was three years ago today- almost 1, toddling around in the cutest costume ever getting ready for his first Halloween !

He inspires me each and every day to stay connected to the foster care community, and my community here in Flower Mound.

His legacy lives on in our home through Malik’s Closet. Thank you for following, sharing, loving and supporting us on this journey!

Every Sunday, someone representing Malik’s Closet will be here on site accepting donations and helping by foster families shop for things that will make their children feel safe, warm, loved and special.

We park on the North side of the building by the elevators!

Everyone is welcome, kids included!
