In the last post I shared that everyone came ready to our last event. There was also this deep sense of searching for wisdom in the room. It was like a heavy presence of “I gotta figure this s**z out”. I was so proud of these ladies for creating space, turning to God & acting upon what they heard.

Sounds like the good ol’ original to me!

We hosted an event at the end of April and I was trying to understand what made that day so DEEP, unique, and refreshing.

They were ready. Ready for the Lord to move. Ready to hear from Him. Prepared to spend the day in silence. It was ✨magical✨

If I could rewind time and tell this young mom one thing, it would be to enjoy each season for what it holds…

Avoid trying to live life in fast forward.

Make time for the people who have joined you along your journey.

Listen to their stories. Appreciate their wisdom. Share yours. Soak it all in!

This photo was taken just months after we took the brave leap into entrepreneurial life, starting with two young children who were just 6 months and 2.5 years.

Now, nearly five years later, we have served over 300 local families. We own a beautiful, historic property that houses the regions only coworking space with onsite childcare AND a full-day preschool program that we created from intentional dreams!

My husband is now working with me full-time, using his talents as a Behavior Analyst to change the entire educational trajectory for a micro-generation of children born in the midst of a Global Pandemic.

It’s been one wild and amazing ride, and we’re making big changes, while continuing to dream 💭

But to this fresh-faced and sleep-deprived mama in this photo, I’d encourage her to SAVOR each season. Take it all in and keep learning and growing 🌱

Do it or do not, that’s the only way to learn.

More fliers came in the mail from , I made two major mistakes on them.

We also received two sign ups today for “Creating Space”. ☺️☺️

What matters more? The people or the paper?

No one think they are special or too far gone, I think everyone needs therapy. Period.

OG post: Therapy allowed me to hear the true voice of the Holy Spirit as it helped me acknowledge my pain, process my grief and silence my inner critic.

If you are struggling with any Christian advice you are receiving-take a step back and get into some good ol' therapy.

Take a moment.

God is always with you, so when you enter the therapy He will be there too.

Our brains and lives are so cluttered that although the"Christian-ese" world wants to give us such a good advice they're not always aware of the particular coping mechanism or trauma memory holding us back in the first place.

So while well intended it's typically not well received, and (sometimes) t's not actually helping us hear His voice.

To note, when searching for a therapist:
✨ask for recommendations
✨don’t settle when it comes to a therapist, if it feels off, then run.
✨it’ll cost more than you think financially. 🙃
✨get ready to realize some things

🤍Kicking off the morning with a yoga session @ 9am

🤍 We then move into our first workshop of the day on Rhythm + Self Care. Here, guests will learn about establishing routine and different ways of incorporating self care into your routine.

🤍 We'll hop into our Part 1 Mix + Mingle session @ 10am, where we will take a full hour getting to know the ladies we are spending the day with.

🤍 Following our networking session, we will enjoy a sit-down brunch. While guests eat and sip, giveaway winners will be announced.

🤍 Next up, our "Growth + Mindset" (that’s me! I’ll be sharing) and "Goal Setting + 2023 Vision" workshops are geared toward business planning for 2023, and how to maintain a healthy mindset during setbacks.

Ironically, I wrote this at 9:30 this morning, and had no margin in my life to post it until 9 PM at night 😂

But the point is still the point.

*Within reason of course* some people really are selfish at their core. 🙄

➡️For the most part if you want more out of a relationship, it may be time for you to:

1️⃣. Pour more intentionally into that relationship even when you wish they would do it first.
2️⃣. Find a good time to simultaneously state what you need to feel loved. Do so in a calm, non-reactive matter.
3️⃣. Confirm with them you are speaking their love language - not yours. Pro tip if they wont learn Love Languages try to get them to say when they have felt good in the relationship before & look for patterns.
4️⃣. Use google, they have all sorts of ideas on how to fill love tanks. Set reminders. Check yourself. Show up. Sadly, you may be operating on empty yourself ☹️☹️ but someone’s gotta give in order for something to give.
5️⃣. Send their a$$ to therapy. Their “receiver may be broken” as I say.
6️⃣. Bonus, complain about them at your own therapy session.

Just a reminder. Life is a lot. It’s good to have a God (and community) who wants to hear it all.

Philippians 4:6 TPT. “Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life”

Faith filled requests = “wth tho” (😂)

Almost nine months of loving this kid. Not a day doesn’t go by David and I look at each other and say “can you believe he’s here. He’s human. He’s ours. We’re so blessed”

Hustling the Holy Spirit changes with every season you are in.

Right now I have a little bottle of oil from that I use to remind myself that He’s here.

I haven’t been one for elaborate prayers recently. Just deep breaths and snuggles.

Thankful, thankful, thankful.

Back to the basics.

Praying we all release some tension in our lives by acknowledging our need for Him and not shaming ourselves for when we forget to do so.

Start where you are and reach out to Him. Don’t over complicate it.

I used to care. I really did. And now I don’t.

If I was ever given the opportunity to host a workshop or lead a presentation, I wanted you to know that I was smart, that I was talented, and I worked hard to make sure you receive something new, fun, and practical.

Now I’ll just show up with Post-it notes and a fun idea.

It’s not me that matters.

It’s the people that are in the room.

I was so thankful to be able to participate in my absolute favorite communicator, public speaking class this last year and my biggest take away, it’s not about me. ⬅️⬅️⬅️

If we’re giving the honor to speak in front of others, then our job is to serve them well.

Otherwise, what’s the point?

So now I don’t care.

I don’t care if I’m forgettable

I don’t care if I don’t sound smart.

What the people receive in that time I am facilitating is what matters.

➡️➡️➡️That’s all serve one another better.

The first post you all loved

When I was in my early twenties I was convinced I was going to write a book and end up traveling for a living. 📚 📝

Even when I met my Husband I told him that I may work non-profit now but someday I’ll be on the speaking circuit and pay for the vacations. ☀️ 🏝

And then I lived life a little more and something changed... I have the same end goal in mind— I want to encourage, consult, laugh and weep with others— the details just look a lot different now.

When I was younger I had such a one-way vision of “influence” and I’m so glad God opened up my mind to other possibilities. I will say this one million times over:

In my personal life I was not changed by the women who spoke from the stage 👏🏾👏🏿 I was changed by women who invited me over to their house and made me soup. 👏🏽👏🏾

Not all of us are going to be trendy women with perfectly curled hair, dropping truth bombs from the stage. 💁🏼‍♀️👩🏾‍💻

➡️ Some of us simply open up our homes and hearts to others as we and invite them into a deeper relationship with Jesus. ⬅️

In the sector of “influence” the Christian world seems to be no different then the regular culture we live in. We follow influencers and put talented communicators on pedestals.

And that’s okay, it may never change, but may I suggest you reach back out to some of those women in your life who made YOU soup and thank them for being the quiet strength you needed in that moment?

To the true influencers, thank you for the soup. 🖤

Forgiveness is possible.
Healing is available.
Don’t stop praying for your family.
There’s a long life ahead of us (Lord willing) and many, many things can change in our hearts & circumstances.

This is my mom, brother, & my son and the Lord has been moving.

I’m not a “faith over fear” person or a “God works everything for OUR good (it’s for THE good)” or a “God helps those who help themselves” person but I do know He can work & we can keep praying.

“Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5

Last weekend my husband & I dedicated our sweet baby to the Lord.

Lots of words of wisdom I want to say about this but I’ll start with this, we did it at an event center, with simple people who know & love us well.

We are the church. God is everywhere. Don’t let the four walls scare you. Experience Him for yourself & if you are willing, help others see Him in the every day too. ❤️
