It's Recital Time Again!

~The recital will be held at Waupun City Hall December 9th at 6:00 pm and there will be a cookie reception following the show!

~The dancers and I couldn't be more excited to show you all what we have been working on the past 14 weeks; and we would love to see you there!

*What will your child all be learning at Rae of Light Dance Studio?
~Students will learn the basics of Ballet Jazz and Lyrical.
~Students will learn a small chunk of choreography that they will perform for their families at the end of the week
~Each day students will be able to learn a fun new skill ranging from streamers to fun line dances

*Does my child need prior dance experience?
~Not at all! This is a fun chance for students to learn if they enjoy dance and get a glimpse into some basic techniques.
~This is still a great time for current dancers to go back to basics of the technique and refine those skills

Looking for something fun and active this summer for your kids? Well you are in luck! Rae of Light Dance Studio will be offering week long intensives throughout the summer!

This is a great opportunity to try dance without the long commitment of a whole semester. For one week students will come in for 2 hours and get a peak into the dance world focusing on ballet jazz and lyrical!

And at the end of the week the students will be able to show you what they had worked on all week with a short routine they learned and more!

It's that time again!

Rae of Light's spring recital will be this Saturday May 20th at 5:00! The dancers are so excited to be able to show you what they have been working on and we are hoping to see you there!

Every dancer loves to receive flowers so you will be able to purchase a small bouquet for your dancer at the door! Bouquets will be sold for $8

You won't want to miss this amazing show!

Also, I added an extra Level 0 option! Level 0 will now be offered on Wednesdays at 4:00-4:30 as well as the Tuesday times.

About the owner:

Hello everyone! I am Mckenna Lefeber and I am the owner of Rae of Light Dance Studio. Owning my own dance studio has always been a dream of mine, one which I didn’t quite believe would ever come true, but here I am! I am so incredibly blessed to have been given this opportunity to share my love of dance with Fond du Lac and give girls a safe and loving environment to pursue dance. Outside of starting the studio, I am currently a sophomore at Marian University pursuing a nursing degree with a specialization in labor and delivery.

My dance journey:

I have always had a love of dancing! I began performing when I was four and choreographed my own Irish Jig for my mom on Mother’s Day. My first opportunity to formally learn dance was through my church when I joined their dance team. I instantly fell in love and the opportunities this provided me were life changing. Through this team, I was able to attend many conferences in Chicago where I took lessons from teachers who taught for the Milwaukee Ballet and I was invited to dance on stage with them during an evening show. From there my love of dance grew, and I began taking lessons from a local dance studio where I was given amazing training to further my technique and I was exposed to numerous styles of dance and eventually joined their company and began teaching classes. As my skills grew I became a choreographer for my church's dance team assisting in putting together worship celebrations. I currently have the honor of teaching for a studio in Oshkosh where I have learned how to properly hold and manage classes. Now, I am the proud owner of my own dance studio and look forward to imparting my knowledge and love of dance to the future generations.

My teaching style:

It is very important to me to maintain a healthy learning environment for all my students while also applying good corrections when needed. I feel very strongly about creating a fun and zero judgment atmosphere. Trying new skills and putting yourself out there can be scary so I will not tolerate any judgment. I will encourage the girls into trying new things that seem hard and will make sure they know that as long as they try there is no failure. I believe God created our bodies perfectly and that they should be used in an honorable way and not in an objectifying manner that can create unhealthy body image issues; therefore I will take care to make sure my costumes, choreography and classroom environment will reflect these priorities.
