I think the design is finally done and ready to hit the printing bed. This is an incredible amount of stuff engineered into a tiny space. Ck the 37mm stepper for scale reference.

Time to start printing some test fit pieces. It's a bit of a chicken and egg thing. I'm printing the head for the printer I'm using. So better be perfecto before I take it apart and upgrade.

The extruder I have isn't worth an F for TPU. Time to hit the drawing board and design a new print head. Love drafting. Rail up design.

Going down another winter 3D print OCD deep dive. New printer frame OTW. Got Klipper installed. That board with the 'H616' on it is a generic PI, integration yo.

Well, it's been a couple years but Node.js, I'm back. Working on a pretty extravagant FPV related project. Lets say secret project. It's one I have been experimenting with and developing for a few years now, just getting to the point of putting it all together.

I was talking about this crappy thing at the last race. 2016, first build. Which makes 2022 my seventh season(time flies).
From this point in time, race quads started using decent carbon/arms.

Had a superb day out at the FoCo FPV race. I needed to tune up an old quad for a DiTD backup during the race. I was quite astounded at the difference in confidence between the untuned and the tuned. I know a lot of pilots skip out on pid tuning, but I gotta say, fine tuning a machine to do exactly what your brain wants it to do cant be beat.
If you want to go down this rabbit hole, just learn pid tuning in velocidrone. Don't bother with a procedure, just start tinkering with one at a time. Start with big changes to feel the effect, then narrow it down to perfection with small changes.

Off to the hardware store to invent another FPV related magical thingy.

How many les gates does a serious micro racer need? I'm going to go with 16.

What do you think? Our club has 10, which always makes for a decent track, but a recent outing we had an additional 5 or so, which meant for an epic 3 level masterpiece.

2022 involves a remix of DJ Adam12 henceforth being DJ OKURU. Looking forward to Serato PRO and mixing up some 2 minute FPV tracks.

Great to be back to flying micros. Gotta step it up a notch, so used to flying carefully to reduce destruction I forget how indestructible these things are.

Nothing is faster at rapid prototyping than Design Spark.

No racing for me this weekend, and it feels wrong not charging batteries at dawn. Gonna work on my pickup and throw some 3" batts on charge before the serious withdrawals settle in. 🔋🔋🔋

Slow loading TBS Agent Lite and difficulties changing vtx channels at DiTD has lead me down a bleeding edge path into pre release OpenTX and CRSF V3. I'll let ya know how it turns out.

It started when reading the new Tracer manual and seeing the section on v3 about installing the hardware mod to the transmitter. It's not needed in X9D+ but I just did it after reading the part about v3.

This close to having 3 quads ready for DiTD. New Tracer to replace malfunctioning one and I think I have discovered that the old Pro32 v1.10 is just not very compatible with the tracer firmware. Can't switch via the myvtx feature, and super slow loading lua scripts. Will report on how this goes. But that's two tracers now and two old pro32's that had the same behavior.
