Wooden Phoenix Custom Woodcraft
Custom trim and cabinets.
Making 2 pieces into one.
Today's tip:
Before installing rough exterior cedar, give a quick light sanding with 150grit sandpaper. It removes the loose wood fibers and will make the paint look better and last longer.

An update on the project. The closest guess was a table by Denise Smothermon. Any more guesses?
Can anyone guess what I am going to build?
Daily Tip:
Preparation is 90% off the work done.
Daily Tip:
Remove toilets when installing flooring in the bathroom. It allows for easier installation of flooring and a cleaner look.
Additional information: Toilet rings may need changed or added to to allow for flooring height difference.
What projects would you be interested buying? I am a couch lounger, so option A is great! Option C is pulling my interest as well though!
Finished with the hallway
Bonus Tip!
When laying out flooring take the extra time to match layout to rooms that are connected in a viewpoint. It give the look that it was ran as one floor when the rooms are too uneven to allow it.
Daily Tip:
When laying flooring it is best to visualize your pattern by laying it down in the space first.
Keep watch for the before and after photos later today!
Daily Tip:
When installing drawer slides, cut spacers at the planned height for the bottom of the slides. This allows for easy repeatable installation between cabinets. For extra hands cut boards 1/4 longer than the space between your spacers and the opposite side of the cabinet. This allows you to wedge them in and hold your spacers while you install the drawer slides.
After the first coat of finish on the bottoms these drawers showed their beauty. Which one is your favorite? (Like the individual photo so I can name a winner!)
Cabinet drawers have first coat finished.
Sanding may take time, but if skipped you will end up with a rough finish.
Sanding drawers before adding finish.
How to make a gapped corner disappear.
1- fill corner with glue (I used titebond 3)
2- sand by hand following along corner with choice of sandpaper (I used 150 grit)
3- see the corner disappear and blend in
(Box is made of MDF, but this trick works on all wood products with the proper glue.)
Finished another project: Open bookshelf. On to the next!

Finished this board and batten today.
This is a bathroom board and batten wall I am rebuilding today. Got the planning and measurements done. Time to get installing.
Some days like today are not super productive in terms of items built or reapaired. But when a day is spent sending out quotes, talking to potential clients and getting accounts all square, it feels great! Hoping today sets up my next few weeks with great things!
Exterior door that I removed and replaced.
Base and trim kit I installed for a refrigerator setup.
A recent job completed. Floating shelves all made from Walnut. The shelves are 2” thick that I glues together to make 15” deep shelves. They were installed with 5/8 threaded rods in the studs. The top on the washer and dryer were 1” thick walnut boards glued into a slab.
The pictures show the process from after they were cut to installed.
Thanks to Creative Circles for printing these awesome shirts and creating the back design. Contact Jordan for your shirt printing needs!
Another repair job done.
I can also repair and build decks. Here is my most recent repair.
