Our end of year novel study has a chapter on vermicomposting and wiggly worms! So, Ms. Wilson's class took it outside to the Learning Lab to read our novel, and dig deep into some red, wiggly worms while learning about their importance in the development of nutrient rich soil. We released our worms into the garden beds when we finished. #northSTEAM #outdoorlearninglab #buildingfutureleaders #fortworthzoo #novelstudy

Mrs. Torres’ class did a pumpkin experiment began by observing the insides of a pumpkin and using our senses to see how it felt/smelled. A seed was opened so they could see the seed is green on the inside and only the shell is white. They then got to taste a pumpkin seed if they wanted to. After that we discussed baking soda and vinegar and how the two together form a chemical reaction. Each student was able to put colored vinegar in the pumpkin to create the chemical reaction.

On Wednesday, North will say “see ya later” to this group of 4th graders. As we reflect on their years at North it has become very clear that they will do great things. At our 4th grade track meet, we saw greatness with this group of kids. Every single student cheered on their teammates as they competed. They rallied behind their peers and were champions for one another. We are so proud and know they will change the world 🤍 #northsteam #buildingfutureleaders
